@ JB HI-FI

I think a very good price considering its FHD + Smart TV + 3D(not that important)

Delivery is $36 or pick up in store

key features copied straight from description

55 Inch LED LCD Screen
1920 x 1080 Resolution
3D Built-In
USB Movie Playback
USB Picture View
USB Music Playback
SD Tuner
50Hz Screen Refresh Rate
1600:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio
Built-In Smart TV Processor & Software
3 HDMI Inputs

This also qualifies for the 50 months interest free program, which is just over 4 years, where you'll have to pay $59 annual fees, 5(annual fees) x $59 = $295. So not really a great option but then again its over a long period.

Agreed, this is its normal price isn't it?

        No it's usually ~$998

You get a sony with the same specs for that price in JB now.

    • +1

I just checked JB website….no sony with that spec for around that price.
      are you sure it's Sony?

I know a genuine Sorny when I see one.

Not so sure about Soniq or Hisense brand yet. I guess I am also Brand-Brain washed into Pana or Sony or Samsung !! But for that price at 55"…not a bad buy for a bedroom TV. bit small for the living room and the brand name needs to be bigger for the living room for showing off purposes when friends visit!

    • +1 for your unashamed honesty :-)

Seems good to me. I've got a 50" soniq plasma tv just HD not fullhd. It's about 3 years old and still going perfectly so considering it's full hd an led and 3d it seems like a great price

A lot of tv for the money but 55" with only 50hz.. no thanks.

In the past soniq has been well known to be a fairly shit brand of TV. Good chance you will need to use your warranty at least once.

I bought one for the dining room last week.
The picture quality is sharp, a bit bright. Audio is rather flat. no problems with watching football or F1 racing. can play movies from a hard disk using a HD media player. Haven't tried the smart functions yet as it needs a wifi dongle.

The university has a soniq 55" HD for a couple of years which still works fine. I think it's good value as a second TV.

Audio sucks on all tvs since they ditched crts.

  • the TV in my company shop same size with this only sell 500$, which one is bargain???!!!

    • Let me guess, cheap nasty plasma?

Bought 3 of the 40" full hds last week for $1490 from JB, good tv image, nice features. I am using them to display service desk info, and information for our virtual clusters and network information by using the built in web browser and network port. Great price with 5 years warranty, they even come on site to fix or replace…..bonus.

This deals sucks balls for a shitty brand close to 1k

    Best was hisense 65" 200hnz 3d for $1500

  • 50Hz Screen Refresh Rate
    1600:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio

    Wtf?!?

  • +1

    The good:
I own this tv and its great. Never had problems. Picture is good. No audio sync issues like some other cheaper TVs. It plays the ps3 well too unlike other cheaper tvs.

    The bad:
I bought mine a year ago for $799 on sale. Shame to see the price hasn't moved.

  • After 6 months with a Soniq Smart TV I have caved and yesterday purchased a Bravia.
Why? The interface on the Soniq's is terrible. When you turn it on it takes what feels like a lifetime to load, then it goes to the Smart TV menu first, then you have to push another button to actually get to the TV functions. May not annoy others, but drove me insane.
JB has a 60" Sony Bravia 100hz Smart TV (no 3d) for $1496 but I managed to haggle them down to $1250 (I believe the model has been superseded hence it is on sale) and some sucker paid $450 for my Soniq 48" (which is only $550 new) so all in all I am happy.

Soniq are good TV's overall but their Smart TV's are TERRIBLE!!!
