Microsoft Hardware 30% Cash-Back Promotion 2013 on fixed RRP as given in the link, started today @ 9 am Sydney time. I have been looking for minimum prices and clearance prices from valid stores to maximize your savings.

In Some stores, prices have not been still updated with this offer….Please note that 30% off based on RRP price given in the link. In Some stores, those are under clearance. So we can have the advantage of that for getting same cash back amount….

Note:Cash back prices are set(fixed) based on fixed RRP given in the link
Aim: We need to find the cheapest prices from different participating stores for maximum benefits. Do the price match for further savings if possible

How to save max.

1.Find the minimum or clearance prices for selected items from participating stores.

2.Enter what you are after and find the minimum prices from other stores(including nonparticipating stores) and do the price match from participating stores(Eg:OW)

3.Finally, grab items from participating stores with min. price to have same cash back amount and maximize your savings

"Surface and Xbox Accessories are excluded from this offer."

Was the very last line above….should have been the first :P

  • +6

I would just like to say that http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-au/p/wedge-touch-mouse/…

looks like possibly the least ergonomic thing since the brick. Just no.

  • I need your help also to find minimum prices for different items…..there may be prices cheaper than this.you can do price match…Please comment…..thanks.

  • +1

Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse is $35 @ OW - http://www.officeworks.com.au/retail/products/Technology/Com…

    • Thanks. But Out of stock

  • Last time I got RRP$170 for 95c after cash back! Still sitting in boxes though.

    • (1 Keyboard & mouse, 1 Camera, 1 Headset)

  • tempted to pick up another xbox controller..

    • what is the cheapest price before the cashback

      • +1

        1st comment in this thread..

        • It says excluded xbox accessories, but Xbox controller is on the list. Weird??

        • Only the Xbox controller for PC is on the list

        • Yep, good catch - I would say it would be the Xbox wired controller which is probably categorised as a PC accessory and not just one fr the Xbox. Of course, it is just a USB Xbox 360 controller that works fine on both PC/360.

I've had one for years and can say it's a must have in a lot of games these days. Excellent device support especially considering so many games are ported nowadays. You'll definitely want one if you're thinking of playing Grid 2.

    • Static ice Xbox controller and you can get it <$30 mucho simples (and not haven to wait for a cash back in 3 months time)

  • One would possibly harrash officeworks to price match ANYSTORE that is cheaper and falls within their pricematch policy (even online plus delivery cost, and overseas store provided that the item is IDENTICAL with respect to model AND warranty length)

"Identical products are price-matched against online stores but as with any other kind of store, the item must be currently in stock. When price-matching online stores we also take into account the added cost of delivery. If the identical product can be purchased and delivered via an online store for a total price lower than the one we are offering, we will beat that total price by 5%."

As observed, there is NO specific reference to ONLY AUSTRALIAN STORES.

**Disclamier: there is reference to "our competitor" in the policy without any further qualification. So I guess it maybe argued by OW that by saying competitor, it means australian stores. If you happen to encouter that annoying staff, simply go to other stores or come back another time for different person.

  • This makes me miss the Logitech 100% cashback, wish it was going on every year like this one

    5.Wired Desktop 600 $14 after cash back $8.01 (not $5.01)

    • Thanks. But Basic Optical Mouse v2 - White P58-0004 RRRP $ 19.95 Cash back $ 5.99
cash back prices are based on RRP given in the link not the clearance price on store…….
      12.98-5.99 ?
What do you think…? please refer my last comment…

    • cash back prices are constant and those are given in the https://www.microsoft.com.au/hardwarecash/terms.html

associated 30% cash back redemption values on the full RRP

  • As I understood, cash back prices are constant and those are given in the https://www.microsoft.com.au/hardwarecash/terms.html
For an example, Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse is $36 @ HN and they have noticed that $18 after cash-back is not the 30% off of $36 but it's 30% off of RRP $59.95
    what do you think?

    • +1

Correct, based on my previous experience of the same type promotion from past years. Regardless of the actual price you buy the items at, cashback is set for that product. So in theory, MS can even pay you if you somehow manage to find a product less than the cashback value.

Oh, and trust me, this question will be queried again and again

      • Yep. We have to find the cheapest price to get the maximum advantage of the offer.

  • +3

Nice work WNK - now to find some discounted goods…
The aim: "To be paid to buy them!"

  • JB has increased some prices back to RRP

  • +1

Last year, I got $10 for Wireless Desktop 800 (after $14.99 cashback).
But this deal is still a good deal.

  • Do any MS keyboards have a built-in track pad? Also, any of these mice have tilt-wheel (horizontal scrolling)?

  • is it possible to get office works to price match around a one year old receipt ? last year i paid only like $13 after cashback for the 5000 desktop keyboard and mouse (wireless) and its fking awesome!!! batteries alone worth like $4 haha

    • I bought two sets as well. One price matched greenboxit and second matching my first receipt but I don't think they will match a year old one.

      • doesnt matter coz they changed the RRP of the item so it actually costs more this year.
for example last year i got it for just under $8 coz the rrp was like $140 with 30% cashback and bought it for $52 but this year rrp is 99.99 so i would have to pay like $22

        • Yeah you are right. I didn't notice the difference

  • ok found one deal for $2…now to comfirm at store and ill report back!!

  • +4

How ridiculous, the cash back site won't render properly on IE10 on WP8. How useless

  • good find. Wish the $9.95 mouse i bought from COTD was eligable. LoL

  • use staticice.com people!

  • Not sure the links for the Xbox 360 controllers are correct. Those point to the console version and not the windows branded version(slight differences with packaging and the wireless one for windows comes with a dongle). I think the SKU would be different especially as it states that Xbox accessories are not included (so the Windows packaged ones that are the only valid ones for the cashback).

Here is a link to the Windows branded wired version at JB http://www.jbhifi.com.au/games/accessories/microsoft/wired-b…

    • -2

      No Xbox 350 accessories mate

      • -1

Um yeah that is what I wrote about, hence I have linked to the Windows Xbox controller which does have cashback rather than the non windows version which is linked in the post description.

  • +1

What is everyone buying? Or are we just up voting for the sound of a good deal? I don't know what's good and what's crap

  • +1

Most price matches i have found all come to make the price of every product except the higher priced items to be around $20 after cashback~

  • Does microsoft do a backlit keyboard?

    • SideWinder X4 Keyboard

    • -5

They probably does if competitor do it

  • Hmm.. I can't find "3.Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse $36 after cash back $18" in the Redeem page, I already bought it.

    • Me neither! It does appear in the list of products that MS has on its page. Also Hardly Normal has also listed that it costs $18 after cashback.

      • Hmm… I wonder if it's gonna work if I just choose Touch mouse?

      • I can see it as the 4th item in the mice list :). HN also indicated that, cash back of $18
        Are you sure?

        • Not in the Redeem Page

        • Nothing to worry. Since It's still in the official promotional page, I think you can still claim it. contact Microsoft Australia.

        • strange as both page enlist 20 mice items.. could you compare the names? I notice they used different names as I could not find wedge mouse/sculpt mouse on the redeem product list! BUT total mice items are same (20).

        • +1

  • Some Dick Smith stores still have the Wireless Desktop 3000 being cleared out for $35.97 - so ends up under $8. Now that is worth it alone for the mouse. It was removed from their website a few days ago, but Google still caches it. Only store I recall having stock in SA was Ingle Farm, not certain about other states.

  • +1

Price-matched Sculpt Touch Mouse for $35 at JB. Store was VERY unhappy about it, but I showed them the barcodes and they matched. Salesperson muttered to the cashier "Don't put it under my name, it's way below cost price". Very intriguing..

What about the Wedge keyboard? It's listed as $78 at HN, $48 after cashbak. Listed as $79 as OW, but it'll come down to $74.1 via pricematch - $30 cashback = $44.1.

I bought the Wedge Mobile keyboard and Wedge Touch mouse. I got OW to price match Umart, so the keyboard became $46.55 and the mouse $27.55.

After cashback, the keyboard would be $16.56 and the mouse would be $3.56.

Both keyboard and mouse aren't listed in the drop-down menu though, hopefully that gets fixed soon.

    Mouse: http://umart.com.au/pro/products_listnew.phtml?id=10&id2=&&b…
    Keyboard: http://umart.com.au/pro/products_listnew.phtml?id=10&id2=&&b…

    • +1

Thanks for your post. Saw this while at OW. Came out saving $25 after pricematching Umart $49 + $7 delivery. The salesguy looked reluctant though. He spent at least 10 minutes asking other staff and looking through the Terms and Conditions of UMART.

      • +1

is Umart an online store or retail store?? OW suppose dont price-matching with online stores

        • Well according to this I think they do.

        • +1

OW shouldn't be price matching this UMART store. There warranty guidelines are not identical to what OW offers. khant1 you got lucky in price matching

        • +1

I got price matched this morning without problem, they just did it before I show the site to him. I think prehaps because Umart do have physically store and allow pick ups. :)

        • Both online & retail, but cheaper to order online & pick up from store - close to me & 1km from closest OW.

    • I did the same thing this morning, just about to post this! nice one! At OW, I went to one, and they ask me to show the site and confirm their stock, the other one just do the price match even before I show the guy the site~

  • The redemption form that you have to send in gives one address and the email they send gives another. Wonder which one to use.

  • May I know where did it mentioned "Each person may make up to 3 claims to receive the Offer"??

I bought 5 products, so can I put the extra 2 on someone at my house same address to claim it for me??

    • click on the main link to the Microsoft site above.

      It's point number 4.

      • It seems they don't need our address and they direct deposit the cashback to bank account. If I make two claim with different bank account? how do they know is it the same person?

        • Dunno. Try and let us know. :)

        • +2

and worst case we'll visit you in prison

  • Nvm this store is not on the list.

  • I bought the Microsoft Wireless Desktop 800 OW Price Match, for $19.95 - $7.96 After Cashback ($6.96 ING Paywave)

Also, Microsoft Wired Keyboard 600 White OW Clearance for $7.97 - $1.98 After Cashback ($1.58 ING Paywave)

    • +1

i got the 800 for $21 as they match it with centrecom, however the lady wasn't particularly happy about it, she said " We won't be doing online price-match for longer "…

      • +1

that's nuts - my OW happily matched Centrecom and MSY for since they both have physical outlets. Agreed with above that OW does not have to match online. They did list the discount as online though even though it wasn't

  • +1

Wedge mouse and wedge keyboard aren't listed in the product redemption page. Can someone else confirm?

  • +1

Went to JB Warrawong NSW, for LifeCam cinema. Sticker, price was $99, asked to check with online price. Cool it was $54 and grabbed one which is $25 less than OW . After $24 cash back, it will be $30 :). 720p HD with smooth video web cam.
    http://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/100565/16533/dsc_1304.j…

Do price match with OW, you can buy it for $51.30 after cash back $27.30

      1. LifeCam Cinema. Sticker, price was $99???

RRP $ 79.95 ONLY, that's a ripped of for $99 or maybe wrong sticker.

      1. $50 in CentreCom, so $54 is not the most Bargain. You can PM with Officeworks easily…
        http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/00016-microsoft-lifecam-…
      • Yes. JB have old stocks. But Minimum prices for cinema and studio cam from participating stores.

People can see the available stores and prices for price-match @ OW from staticice.com.au including centrecom.com.au may be price less than $50 if in-store pickup available. Later, it's clearly mentioned in the post.
        Thank you.

  • Well the sensible thing to do is wait over 2-3 month period for an epic sale on these products..

    • As I think, there are advantages and limitations for waiting to buy.

      Disadvantages:
      * More Items with clearance prices will be out of stocks in participating stores.
      * May have to wait for epic sales from a participating stores before the promotion ends.
      * Price match may not possible for online epic sales such as shopping express.
      * Since, they are aware with cash back promotion, they will promote that rater than tempting to drop sales prices.

      Advantages:
      * If you will find epic sale from participating store withing 2-3 month you can grab it and save more
      * If you will see an epic sale rather than online only sales, you can price match with a participating store and save more

      Up to you guys…..Cheers……!

  • Last year this promotion was timed perfectly with the DSE Clearance deal and I pretty much received 100% profit on all xbox products. The cash-back takes about two months to go into your bank.
