  • Using one for the first time today, it feels cold to touch (metal finish) and the reflective screen is very annoying. Otherwise very nice.

Bought from MegaBuy a few times, hasn't let me down, but slow processing… so if you want your item this week that's probably not gonna happen, late next week more likely. (I live in Sydney, Megabuy is in Brissy)

    • Try returning something, usually the website is not correct ie having stock

    • Does seem to be slow, but half of it is the bunch of emails they send at every stage of order/payment/confirmation/packing/lodging/shipping.
      No problems though.

  • what can i do with 64G those days?

    • what can you do with 128gb?

      • Maybe use it on a bumpy helicopter…? [SSD's -may- stand up better than mechanical hard drives.]

You might get all or most of Khan Academy's video tutorials (eg, from the 49 GB distro, once found on ThePirateBay)

But these seem -way- Over-Priced (for small screen, 4 GB RAM & i5 CPU)…
but if you're readinf this you may be an Apple follower, not concerned with price. ;=)

How similar are these to MacBook Pro's….?

Eg, is there a nice protruding gasket to help keep out dust, at least when lid is shut?

Are all keys backlit (so you can work in a dark room, after power goes off)?

I'd wait for one of the MBP's to drop to such levels…

    • its 11" ffs. its not made to be a full time laptop

      • How does 11" make it not a 'full time laptop'? Just throw a bigger hard drive in it and your problems are solved.

what can you do with 11"?

        that's what she said

      • Nonsense. I've used my eeepc 1000h for the last 5 years as my main pc.

(I bet you got better battery life & lest heat from it, than this Apple, too…?)

(Even an older, Win XP-based Samsung ND10 can be had with SIM-socket for internal 3G data.
Runs Skype (SkypeOut to dial phone numbers… Don't recall if MyNetFone's SoftPhone work on it…?)

"Value is in the wallet of the Beholder" ;-)

  • Guys be careful don't buy this as apple is about to launch a new MacBook air mid of June

      Thanks Steve Jobs!

      • Steve Jobs won't tell you that. A certain Waterhouse on the hand…

Thanks for the heads up. Was about to order but will not proceed based on above reviews. Thanks K

  • 64gb won't be useful if you want to run bootcamp (if you were entertaining that idea), and as posted previously, warnings about nevabuy

    • What's bootcamp? :-/

      • Installing windows os and lion os at the same time. Meaning u will be able to ur laptop as a mac and a PC at the same time.

        • You will need to boot into one or the other, not exactly the same time. If you wanted that option, boot as a Mac then run Windows in a virtual machine like Parallels Desktop for Macintosh, VirtualBox, Vmware Fusion etc. You could (confusing at first for some) also use an existing Boot Camp partition as your PC disk, not just a software partition or drive file/container.

  • There is the 128 model too ;)

    • I reckon you should've gone with that in the title as a better deal.

its up the top, OZBers are savvy enough to see it :)

        • +2

Tell me, with all due respect, what are you guys doing about your bad Reputation…?

(IMO, it makes OzB feel like a "dumping ground" when we're reminded of lots of bad reports of lousy customer service, i.e., after a company with -such- a long string of reputation-indicators comes here & offers an item or two.

Maybe come out about past issues, tell us what you're doing (or, better, have done) to fix past problems (eg, new management, service goals (or, better, guarantees) or monitoring), etc.

Nobody wants any vendor's reputation to smell like dead fish.

If it's a "bad rap" give us some reason to believe that (recent stat's on great service, other customers' eBay feedback on your more recent performance, etc.)

Maybe show us photos of inside your facilities, folks who work there or who are responsible for customer service, etc.

Not having seen these, one could imagine that it's a run down house with poorly stacked boxes, careless, under-paid staff, etc.

Show us your actual condition & recent, verifiable indicators of great Cust Serv performance.

Put any awful performance behind you…

Re-name your company, if you need to…

          Do -something- already.

        • Agreed completely IVI. Megabuy, I too would like a response. Your bargains are certainly tempting but I've been burnt from too many dodgy online stores such that I wouldn't chance it.

        • A case we are familiar with:

          RadioGearPro.com accepted payment for a Au$ 379 antenna tuner.

Tracking of the package went as far as the point at which it was handed to Australia Post. Then, the parcel went missing.

Australia Post took responsibility for the parcel's loss.

Although it was my loss, international agreements required Australia Post to pay (under -half- the value of my loss to) Honk Kong Post.

After a wait of over half an hour "on hold" HK Post took my call and - after a further delay "on-hold" told me that it had received AU Post's payment.

HK Post told me it coud take as long as 6 weeks (sic) for them to pay the money to the vendor.

To date, RadioGearPro.com has -never- refunded even the portion of the amount passed to it by HK Post.

So, much of the savings the buyer had enjoyed - up to that point in time - were wiped out, by the loss and further insult of the vendor never refunding the compensation, which AU Post paid for its loss.

"Import with care (& insurance)" :-/
