Games are region locked, but still cheap if willing to import/buy digitally.
Their digital pricing on the eShop is cheaper. Much better price than what the Australian eShop pricing are showing. Plus USA region Wii U console normally has the 60 hz for Virtual Console games while the PAL region get the inferior 50hz Virtual Console version for some games.
Yeah I gotta agree, I seriously considered getting a US 3DS XL, the only reason I went with PAL version is that I already had quite a few PAL games left over from when I gave my son my regular 3DS when the Vita was released. The AU prices suck both retail and eShop. Hell even play-asia's everyday NTSC prices are way cheaper than anything in B&M here.
It the same as the 3DS/XL , eShop pricing is a huge difference. 34.95 USD eshop pricing for Animal Crossing New leaf , while here I'm guessing 59.99-69.99 AUD for Animal Crossing New Leaf. The eShop USD pricing is even cheaper than B&M here with 3DS game retailing for 49.99 AUD. It really insane, Too bad i'm short on fund to make this migration happen for both my current Wii U and 3DS.
Only if Nintendo wasn't so backward with their region locking policy but I'm afraid I STILL love their games too much >_<
