After seeing Rock Band at full price at various stores, I was surprised to see it on (Aust) ebay stores for a 'Buy It Now' price of around $45 with postage included.

If you have the GHWT instruments, it's a good price considering Rock Band's set list. EB, Gametraders & Game all wouldn't price match. JB had no stock.

Feel free to give this a negative - I understand that stock would be fairly limited but some may find this post helpful. I'll leave it up to the majority to speak.

Ignore the URL - it's set to ebay.com cos ebay.com.au was banned from posting.

Cheers

  • What's its RRP?

    • I'm pretty sure it's still $99.95.

      • That's the price at both Game and EB.

  • Sidenote: If you have GHWT instruments on 360, all of them will work with the Rock Band game.

Unfortunately, the same is not entirely true for PS3 (only guitar works, not drums) and Wii owners (neither works).

    See here for more info:

  • That's an old chart I believe, I have the GHWT Drums and they work fine on Rock Band, but you need to download a patch for Rock Band before playing it to make it work :)

  • Whilst it's nice to know, I don't really consider this a proper bargain: go to ebay and search for some people who may or may not be selling it for a price that is possibly around $45? A bit too weak for me…

Incidentally, here's a direct link to said items for the price suggested in this "Bargain":

  • Whilst removing the .au may technically allow it to be posted eBay is obviously blocked for a reason.

Regardless, I purchased the PS3 version about 2 weeks ago from CD Wow for $40.95 delivered, which at the time was cheaper than eBay's lowest BIN price, and cheaper than the final price of all recently ended auctions. I can see that as with a lot of games on CD Wow the price has now fluctuated, this time upwards, but it goes to show that you can beat eBay at regular stores.

    • That's a good price mate. For 360, it's gone up to about $90.

I've never posted a bargain from ebay, but is seems that with the lack of stock around (for 360 anyway) and the high prices, it might help someone out.

  • +1

I guess you have technically found a bargain, and it's nice to know about it, but I don't think we want to start a precedent for anyone to post every eBay deal they find which is cheaper than your local store! I could literally post 100s of items… Jelly Belly Flops anyone??? (search eBay if you don't understand)

But as long as the opportunity has been created to brag about eBay deals, yeah, I finally got a brand new copy of Brian Lara Cricket 2007 for Xbox360 (AKA Ricky Ponting Cricket 2007) from a UK seller for around $25 delivered. It's not a must-have game hence why I haven't wanted to pay full price and local store prices (online too) are around $50. At the exact same time I buy it (it was a BIN item) I see people bidding on a used copy of Ricky Ponting Cricket 2007 (remember, it's the exact same game) from a local seller which was $67 delivered at the time! Crazy…

And, yeah, when I bought Rock Band from CD WOW for around $50 a few weeks back (Xbox360), people were bidding $70+ on local eBay items.

You got the word out at least!

    • I wonder why the price has shot back up?

  • eBay.com.au was banned for a reason…

    • Sorry Scotty…feel free to delete this one.

  • No Ebay for me. We can all do our own Ebay searches.

  • yeah so i heard this isnt a bargain

  • Not a bargain.

Also, screw Rockstar. The GH:WT drums on the PS3 do NOT work with Rock Band.
