Does anyone know if there's a place cheaper than NRMA for a greenslip? Well it costs $770 for my car. And does insurance companies price match and beat it by 5%?

Go to the NRMA counter and talk to the representative. They may offer you a much better price than online quotation. $770 is quite expensive
I actually called up NRMA, since I'm already with them.
You are obviously young so the only thing I can suggest is get the car registered in your parents name and let them insure it. Should make it a lot cheaper.
A friend complained that their CTP had gone up a lot this year - turns out it was an approved $50 increase this year - although I think theirs went up even more than that. Don't think so. There are only 4-5 companies that do greenslip.
