  • Zavvi has two V's ;)

Personally I'm not shopping with Zavvi any longer, at least not until they do something about their god awful shipping method. My last two orders from them have gone missing altogether and also one from TheHut.

    • I've ordered many from TheHut and only twice they didn't deliver and I got emails saying that they didn't charge for them. But according to my memory they had charged for the whole order at once when I paid from PayPal. Never had refunds for them. But I started ordering again recently and now one by one. Never lost anything. Last week only I received 5 parcels from them and they had left it under my front door floor mat on 5 consecutive days.

Check if you have any one stealing from there. :D

With this deal my concern is on Zone of the BluRays disks. They wouldn't work here would they?? I have bought many while living in US for kids. Nothing work in here and in the car DVD player as well.

Anybody know what to do to play them in car DVD player ??

      • I believe that all blurays bought from zavvi (a UK site) are the same region as AU
So if you have a US bluray player it won't work

        • -1

No. My player bought from here. And Toyota car from here too.

Europe is region 2 and Aus is 4. So two different regions.

I don not want to high-jack this thread for this discussion. I will post a question in forum. I really want to know what other people actually do with disks they buy abroad.

          (Replying to rmamila)

That's DVD's you're thinking of (AUS DVD = Region 4). AUS Blu-Ray's are Region "B", same as the UK. :)

There are no compatibility issues buying Blu-Rays from the UK. DVD's are a different matter though!

      • Nobody is stealing them, at least not from my door as I have all parcels sent to my PO Box. It seems that anything that could be deemed as a real bargain (new release triple A PS3 game $30) doesn't turn up. I order a couple of pairs of boxers and they arrive within a week. I think that they might be sending stuff via the cheapest ground route that they can find when there isn't any real profit in the deal on their end.

        • You might be right. They can not ship it with a very reliable company while they just charge 1 pound for delivery and not much in the item as well.

        • +1

My copy of syndicate hasn't turned up either despatched 09/04 so I don't think the postal gremlins are too particular with their gaming choices lol.

        • +1

lol perhaps not. I am now waiting on Injustice: Gods Among Us. So annoying as I have bought the DLC but have no game :/

    • Yes same here- they claim they were unable to deliver it and want to refund part of what I paid less shipping and a discount.

      • What was the item?

  • I have had the best experience with Zavvi.com i wont shop anywhere else
All my Blu Rays turn up less than a week after shipped and at 0.99p its pretty awesome :)
compared with Amazon which charges based on how much you order.

AND FYI its two for £11 not 13.90 :)

    • But Amazon removes VAT and the shipping rate per item gets cheaper when you buy more..

      • zaavi.com will remove VAT when you put in your Australian Address also

        • No they don't. I've used them for years, never had any VAT removed and that was up until two weeks ago.

        • Placed an order yesterday
          Item price was like 14.95
when i got to check out it had dropped to like 12.29 or something.

I emailed them once and asked about VAT and they said if you are logged in when you place your order and your order is for outside UK the VAT will be removed.

And going back through my orders now… every order i have placed is no VAT. The price i was charged is much less than price it was advertised for.

So maybe you are doing something differnt, but i am not paying VAT on any of my orders.

        • Example:
          Django Unchained Steel book
          Website Price: 18.99
          http://www.zavvi.com/blu-ray/django-unchained-limited-editio…

Here is copy of my order from my zaavi account
Django Unchained - Limited Edition Steelbook (Includes UltraViolet Copy) [Blu-ray]

          Despatched
          16/05/2013
          1 / 0
          £0.00
          £17.68
          Delivery Method: International Standard Delivery

        • I'm always logged in when ordering. I never get VAT removed.

    • AND FYI its two for £11 not 13.90 :)

While they are advertised at 2 for £11, when you add them to your basket, they are showing as £13.90.

Looks like the 2 for £11 offer discount isn't working.

      • Some on that list say 2 for £11, others don't have that and are 6.95 each.

    • Less than week? Mine take a month if I get them at all.

      • Never had anything take longer than a week and i have placed over 20 orders on their site now.
By a week i mean.. a full 7 days from when they email me to say "item dispatched"

Zavvi/The Hut are much slower in terms of delivery time than Amazon. But Amazon customer service is streaks ahead if anything goes wrong. Like light years. The ordering process is seriously inflexible too, try cancelling or changing an order at Zavvi. It's near impossible and the time it takes for customer service to get back to you is too long. I only buy from Zavvi and The Hut if it significantly cheaper.

    • I ordered a bunch of car oil filters from Amazon US, they never arrived. It said there were delivered, but according to their records, someone else signed for it with a completely different name. That wasn't Amazon's fault though, it was Australia Post who did that. I was able to verify with Aust Post that they stuffed up.

Amazon refunded me the money the next day :) I reordered them again and they arrived the second time :D

    • I had a DVD box set arrive damaged
emailed Zaavi.. they posted replacement and let me keep the damaged one.
They also sent the replacement international tracked shipping so i could see where it was (usually 18 pounds to get that shipping option)

Before xmas we had an item go missing from Amazon and it didnt arrive in time.
They refunded our money and sent us a replacement.
So i agree their customer service is awesome, but my exp with Zavvi has been just as good.

  • Want Serenity, but can't choose between King Kong, and The Fountain for disc 2…

    • Neither! For me it would be Inglorious Basterds, Twelve Monkeys, Lock Stock, Get Shorty, Ronin, White Men Can't Jump - and that's just looking on the first few pages. Any of those before your second pick, everyone is different though eh?

Looks like Zavvi have fixed the deal so it actually works now. The previous 2 titles I had in my basket @ £13.90 now correctly show £11 + postage.
