I'm looking for a cheap tv stand (for 50" LED TV) and a coffee table delivered or flat packed as I don't have much space to fit anything in my car. I bought a coffee table from Kmart two months ago and the leg snapped off the other day. Needs to be a bit stronger than the crap they peddle. Not looking for anything fancy, just sturdy enough to last awhile until we move in six months. Any suggestions? Is IKEA stuff worth it or similar to Kmart quality?

Have to agree with @aussiepom. Every single piece of IKEA furniture I have (and that's practically most of it) has pleasantly surprised me with its build quality and durability. (again, in relation to its price)
I've also picked up perfectly decent furniture via gumtree and community BBs.
Whereabouts are you?
I'm in Brisbane and we went to The Furniture Shack and bought some imported solid birch furniture for quite a good price. Still more expensive than I'd like to pay for 6 months use though.
Ebay or garage sales are probably your best bet for really cheap stuff. Buy older solid pine furniture, it's ugly but solid.
Ikea stuff is generally pretty good quality (for the price anyway).
Also try Gumtree for secondhand stuff. We picked up a perfectly good desk for nothing.
