1000 mAh - probably only good for emergency backups. This is about 1/2 the capacity of a typical modern smart phone.

    • When buying portable batteries take into mind ~30% is lost in the recharging process mostly as heat. So always aim for 30% larger than the capacity you intend to charge.

I think its weight to capacity ratio is on par with the lighter weight China battery packs.

  • Compatible with iPhones and iPods

Will it work with my Nexus S?

    • -4

I would say yes. You plug your cable that came with your phone into the USB port and the other end in your phone. Nexus s? I think you should look at getting a new nexus (even though the nexus S was an awesome phone)

Why would k need to update to a new phone? Nexus S is on JB and will still hold its own as a lower-mid range phone today.

Not great capacity at 1000mAh. You can get 2000+ ones for not much more on eBay.

True, but the kodak brand gives some assurance of the power capacity. I find ebay sellers overly optimistic about their battery products.

      • +2

ebay seller is as good as Kodak these days. Kodak filed for bankruptcy last year and its consumer facing side is essentially a brand/badge on other OEM's products.

Read the Amazon reviews.. you'll have no confidence after that.

The reviews on Amazon for this are truly woeful. Apparently a very widespread issue is a high pitch noise when charging. Reliability is a big one too. I'd suggest you save your cash for the Aldi unit despite it costing 3x as much.

  • I thought Kodak went bankrupt

  • Better to build one using rechargable AA's IMO.
Cheap, fun, quite easy, and you can be SURE on the quality (because you did it yourself :D)
