Brand New Road Bike with Ultegra

Just purchased this bike: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Carbon-Alloy-Road-Bike-Ultegra-Gr….

Seems like a good deal for carbon/alloy frame, carbon forks, Ultegra pretty much everything except for crank set and brakes which are Shimano Non Series 66# which is ultegra spec(ish) anyway and Mavic Aksium Wheels. Got it for $749 delivered. I know it might be old Ultegra, but seems like you cant go wrong for the money considering aksium wheels are around $230 by themselves and ultegra groupset is over $500. There are 3 left on there, and I think there are a few more smaller sized ones too.

I didn't post as a bargain as there isn't many available. What do you think?

sounds good, but same company that had the massive scandal a while ago with the dodgy bikes?

    • Scandal? Is there a link to the details?

      • I also would like to know, as you have now scared me a bit. I should get it tomorrow, and I'll let you know if dodgy. Paid with paypal, so if it is, should hopefully get full refund

      • it wasn't a scandal - just overhyped.

The bike shipped with a different front derailleur and the buyer was scared that this different part posed a safety risk. Lifespan sounded dismissive.

I build bikes for a hobby and have cobbled together weird-and-wonder combinations that function just fine for my own personal use.

They have specified all your parts so just do a quick check it is correct.

Looks like a great deal - pity I already have too many bikes…

        • yes i agree. i have also bought a bike off lifespan so i'm also a customer, i bought a different bike which runs great (only 250$) and has no dodgy parts…that i can tell. it was just that bike.

  • Got it today, looks like all the parts are there. Cant ride it yet as I have no pedals lol
