  • microSIM for IPAD only , great if you want a microSIM for data :D

    • although you shouldn't have any issue getting the chat support to change it into longlife mobile phone prepaid plan with $30 credit on it. The only problem is once you've spent 30$ on all the best emulators what else is there to buy?

      • Transfer the credit to the next $10 SIM.

        • oh well I got it down to 23c but even if I had more money on it why waste 25c to transfer it over. the real problem I've got now is what other cool android apps to get.

  • can the international sim be used for recharge? or is it only for new connections?

I hope they've restocked for this new sale. I went to a couple Auspost stores last week and there were no iPad sim packs left.

    • price match at big w :)

      • I dunno if they'd call or not but anytime I've ever tried to price match anything they'd always call and check stock. I mean whats the point of price matching (if they're not offering a discount) if the other store has the item instock. I'd just as easy go buy it from someone else if they had it.

        • who are they gonna call? :)

just the catalogue itself has always been enough with me

        • oh well non catalogue deals like clearence priced items (that router for 84$ and 3g wifi pro 2 at 17.84~ even if I showed them recently posted receipts they always call for stock checks.

        • @tonester …Ghostbusters

    • Ask instore or phone for available stock locations.

  • Yea! Another 3GB/mth data for $10 deal.

(See previous posts about use in non-iPad devices!)

    • How to get 3gb ?

micro SIM for iPad with 3GB data - but works for other data devices. http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/100607

Unused credit might be able to be be transferred / used to buy Apps - see past deals (for $10 starter SIMs - which may be different) http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/98627 etc
Have used $10 starter SIM in a Pocket Wifi2 modem. Just told them I was using it with an iPad & got 3GB no problems. Should be same with this - but DATA ONLY!

Have been travelling in Oz for last month using it - works great. Backpacker Hostels charged $5 for 2 hours WiFi access - so this is a bargain. Used VOIP in the rainforest & kept up with OzBargain for those free pizza voucher deals when I come back!

        • Correction: These iPad micro-SIMs can't be used to buy Apps or transfer credit - just 3GB data, according to posts on http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/100607
Normal Starter SIM packs are more flexible for credit or tell them its for use in an iPad for 3GB of data.

Now to make a micro-SIM to SIM adapter

      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/97728 :)

      • Or a few minutes with a knife, tape, & piece of plastic (eg old SIM).
Lots of advice online, no cost, & no waiting. Done!

        • thanks but my time/effort > $1 :)

        • You forgot to factor in ordering, waiting, & collection time. Easier, quicker, & more satisfying to do yourself in a couple of minutes. It just involves cutting a hole in plastic (old SIM). Was easy & saved days of waiting.

          waiting, & collection time.

i don't need it so not exactly waiting for it - disregarded

i'm not that handy and find other things more satisfying :)

          true :)

      • Lots of these adapters on eBay from $1 for 3 delivered within 1-9 days. http://vi.ebaydesc.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemDescV4&item=… ($7.15 @OW!) Just a basic plastic border to fit around the micro-SIM. Some cheap ones still require some cutting & you may need to add tape to hold SIM in place! Needed a new 3GB deal this week as old one is expiring. That's why I gave it a go, rather than wait.

        • fair enough - if you can't wait, then diy is the way to go :)

        • If you happen to have old sims lying about, instead of buying adaptors, you can just buy a sim cutter for $2. Cut those old sims and use the bit with the hole as your adaptor.

  • Chermside mall post office seems to never have these SIM starter every time they are on sale $10, but back on stock when not on sale

    • Ask them to look up stores with stock. Last month got Toombul to ring & hold $10 ones in Valley for pickup.

  • Does anyone know if that $50 LG phone is suitable just on a data only plan for the internet (afl app) out in the bush? Just need somethin cheap and nasty to get afl live radio on.

    • If you are on Telstra then can get a 4" Telstra Urbane (ZTE T22) for $60. Includes 3GB of data for first month. A significantly better phone than the LG plus it's running ICS 4.0.4. See http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/101878

  • no kidding the post office did a search for me and most places are out. Some have 1-2 at most.

    Except Jindabyne. They have 29

    • Sometimes the system fails to account for some stock (or shows stock when in reality there is none) so if you wanted extra assurance I would ring each of your local POs for verification on numbers instead of relying on a system stock check. Providing you care enough to ring around for this deal.
