Gillette Fusion Blades 4 Pack, $13.60, Shaver Shop Chadstone

50

I work at Chadstone shopping centre and saw at the Shaver Shop this morning.

Not sure if every store doing it or if it's just them but it's very good value.

Grocery run had these for $13.90 plus shipping but sold out very fast.

They seem to have plenty of stock.

Too busy hitting F5 all day

        • So that is what F5 does.

      • You're right, I'm going to start catching a taxi to work and hiring a maid to cut my carrots.

    • I have tried to find double edge razors but I don't know where to look, any tips where to get them and the handpiece? Any trick to using them safely over safety razors?

Hasnt the price been $13.60 for some time? They have had banner ads for the special for a long time.

Any true ozbargainer would avoid Shaver Shop altogether.

  • Try your luck in Target - they were selling six packs for less than $15
    See http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/101276

target I went to was empty and the price was back to $28

I remember the good old days when we only needed 1 blade to get a good shave. These multi-blades are a joke what a victory for marketing over common sense, the things must only cost a max of 10 cents to make each, the profits must be extraordinary.

  • For that price I bought a pack of 40 disposable shavers, each lasting me around a week before they dull.

  • Is this a stocktake clearance in shaver shops nationwide? (ie. Sydney - Bondi Junction or other locations)

  • I bought three x 4 packs but they only sold me the ones behind the counter. I noticed plenty out front though. When I got home all the writing was in another language. I know parallel importing is legal but I thought they had to put a sticker on it at least or an Australian distributor contact number. I feel a bit weird about the purchase now. I still have the receipt and still haven't opened any, I just don't know whether I should take my chances. I know that other brands have inferior parallel imports (the taste of Pringles from mexico is completely different for me or Pepsi from South East Asia). Has anyone noticed any difference using blades with foreign writing on the packet. I think they have a combination of Arabic and Italian.

EDIT: Found contact info but it is for UK and Ireland only. That gives me some relief as I think that market has similar quality controls to ours but still it's worrying that there isn't at least some sticker with an Australian contact number listed.

    • Double checked and the ones they had in front of the counter that were covered in plastic (so you could look but couldn't touch them) had English and AU/NZ contact details. When I asked for three the attendant went out back and got three that weren't from the display and sold me them. They had Italian/Arabic writing and no English except for the UK contact number (useless in Australia)
