I have a Reader and am very happy with it. What really gets to me, is that although I purchased the books legally, as far as I am concerned I now own that copy of the book. I cannot swap or give it to a friend. If I went into a bookstore and brought a hard copy I can give it away, so why not eBook's.

Excuse me? You were the one who wanted comment on ebooks and now you don't like what you are reading? Tough. I don't really care what you think of ebooks. They are useful to me in some ways but I also buy some paper books too.
Ah I see you were not acquainted with ways of getting around the system. Well I suppose if you didn't know the right question to ask, you don't know where to start. Never mind, I'm a failure as a mind reader.

If you don't agree with the DRM it isn't hard to take things into your own hands.

Just look up "owning ebooks" if you want to find places where people discuss the new renting paradigm, and you can wax indignant.
Though so many books are cheap (or free) read-once throwaway fluff and for those I don't care, certainly not to inflict those on friends. Also some technical publishers offer lifetime updates, something not economical for paper books. So there are some advantages to eBooks. You can still patronise your bricks and mortar bookseller for paper books that you think might be collector's items to pass on to your kids.
BTW lose that apostrophe. Older style guides might have suggested an apostrophe between an acronym and the plural s, or even periods in the acronym, but that is so passé, and eBook isn't an acronym.
