Health cover that virtually pays for itself.
Get yourself covered today with MBF and you'll be receiving Health cover that not only leaves your health better protected, but your back pocket will also appreciate it. By joining private hospital cover you can:
Avoid the Government's Lifetime Health Cover (LHC) loading
Under LHC, once you're over 30, for each year you delay joining hospital cover, your loadings (which are an additional cost on top of your premiums) increase by 2%. So the longer you leave it the more you'll pay.
Stop paying the additional Medicare levy Surcharge.
If you're single with a total taxable income of over $50,000 (or you're a couple or family with one child with a combined total taxable income of over $100,000), you'll be paying at least an extra $500 in tax every year.
Many conditions apply (obviously).
Oh and $80 moneyback.
Nice deal! Although we are already insured as part of fringe benefit at work. I think the primary reason for getting private health insurance is to avoid the extra Medicare levy which has pretty low threshold. As you said, the premium will pay for itself at the tax time.
And that reminds me that I still need to do my tax :(
