Not sure how much saving is the iOS version though Google search is still showing it to be $9.99. And no idea how long the sale is. It started on Friday.

  • Why would anyone choose this over whatsapp?

    • +1

Whatsapp is not cross-device so you can only use Whatsapp on phones. While other services supported by this app allow users to chat on phones, tablets and computers.

The messages also get synced and saved in the cloud compared to Whatsapp which only saves inside that specific device you tied your phone number with.

That's a lot of cons already but do not get me wrong, I use and like Whatsapp too. Just that I understand the many different needs others will have.

  • I think it used to be a really helpful tool when you used 5 different accounts (GTalk, Skype, MSN…) But as Viber/Whatsapp took over the mobile part, it makes much less sense now.
Anyhow, good deal for free!! :)

    • Not free mate, good about 3 years ago when people where still on MySpace and MSN or maybe in the 90's for ICQ :-)

  • Not everyone has or wants whatsapp. Anyway, the connectivity was never strong when on IM+, always disconnected every 10-15mins.my friend and I found Trillian to be much more stable.

    • Not everyone knows that whatsapp is superior.

      • Its only superior if it does what the user wants. Im not gonna spam all my friends into installing whatsapp, when we have facebook/msn already - which IM+ is compatible with.
Ive tried whatsapp before btw, no longer in my phone though.

        • I never had to spam people, I personally know most people on my contact list and have showed a couple who showed others in our circles and so on. Almost everyone I know uses it I hate facebook though so have no use for that and I stopped using MSN years ago.
