      Cubiestore estimates $10 to my postcode in NSW…I'm somewhat tempted, not sure what the community/dev support is like though.

      Miniand seems to be a local seller and presumably you get better buyer protection but you have to pay GST.

    Has some similar spec to the BeagleBone Black than Raspberry Pi. Not much mention about IO. Ill stick to BBB as it has good community support Is well built and has add on capes. BBB comes to about the same price from Aussie distributer than the Cubie.

    The Cubie may not be a rip off, its in a different market than the Raspberry Pi, its just selling at a high price compared to the BBB which was recently released and price reduced significantly with the launch over the previous lower spec product.

    I'd buy it from Miniand.com, they've been great before.

    The Cubieboard is pretty nifty; however community support and Linux distros aren't as mature as for the BeagleBone. The cubie does support GPIO, SPI, etc. It also has built-in sound, unlike the beaglebone.

    It's still totally functional though. I've had a lot of fun with both.
