Hi everyone I'm basically just looking for advice.
I've got a generic android phone that is powerful enough to output 1080p video however I'm not sure if I can play it externally. I was hoping I would be able to get a micro USB to female HDMI connector.
I've seen a couple of adapters on eBay and was just wondering if anyone had any experience with this issue and if/how they've solved it.

Do I need to find applications that support this functionality or could I just connect it and watch as the video and audio on the phone switch off and the TV comes to life?
At this point in time I believe the device has to be MHL or Mobile High-Definition Link technology… but how can I check that? I wish it was in system information or something on the phone.
If you have a 'generic' Android I'm assuming it ain't an upper model Samsung, HTC or other MHL compatible phone, so micro USB to HDMI is out I'm afraid. Have a look at the MHL Wikipedia page. If you have any related questions I'll try and answer them (I use MHL everyday), but it won't be tonight. MUST SLEEP! Early start.
