Surprised this didn't get more clicks:

Looks like some very good Kenwood toasters at half price or less.
Plus $30 cash back!
You never know when your toaster is going to die, so why not grab one?

True enough, but I didn't see deals posted for those other items.
As far as redundancy measures? It's just a pain to toast bread under a grill, don't you think?
Whereas I could deal without a kettle (boil on stovetop). Microwave? I mostly use that to reheat coffee (bad I know, but I hate to waste it).
As for coffee machines? An argument could be made for instant coffee for those with a more compliant palate. Not for me though, I have two in storage from a HN deal last year ;)
Just because there is a deal posted, doesn't mean you have to go and buy it.
Those appliances were just an example. If my toaster suddenly broke, I'd just eat something else.
No, it's not about the deal.
It's about continuity of lifestyle and normalcy.
You should buy a few spare houses too.
You will need then to store all of these replacement appliances.
Don't forget your roof space, lots of wasted space up there.
You'd be amazed at how much I can safely store in my garage.
Including the car!
You could say that about a kettle, microwave, coffee machine etc
