I am getting sick of these Dick Smith time wasters. I suggest anyone posting limited sock items needs to say where they actually have found any stock.

    • These are currently available for delivery.

      • Would not let me add to cart. Will try again.

Edit: I tried again and just get this:

"Hey there, the item below is not available for Home Delivery
They will remain in your cart after purchase of available items"

FYI, i only had this in my basket.

Agreed. There have been a bunch of them today.

Unfortunately, some of the DSE deals are as hard to get as the Catch of the Day "Catchathon" deals. Not sure what the solution is, but these deals are frustrating.

  • looks good

  • Gone.

  • yup

  • so 10 minutes is all it took - not worth publishing the deal

  • Think the mods need to challenge DSE posts.
Most of these are only click and collect and available at a limited number of stores.

Wtf is the neg for? I try to post good deals and this is what I get.

You snooze you lose, no reason to neg if you didn't get the deal.

    • there was never anything to lose.

seriously need to list where stock is. otherwise these deals are time wasters.

      • The item was available for delivery hence the title!

      • I managed to get one in the small window of availability

        • And then they cancelled my order…

    • a deal available for 5 minutes is not a "good deal"

post dodgy deals - get negged

Why take it personally? It's not like your plusses and minuses mean anything in the end

      • I suppose you have ESP and knew it was only going to be there for 5 min?

A number of people were satisfied. We didn't know how quick stock would run out. This was fine to post.

        • nope - notice I didn't neg. I certainly don't think it's worth getting upset over

      • +2

How did I know it was going to last for five minutes? I clearly stated in the description that stock was limited (clearance item).

I don't know how you can say this deal is dodgy - I do my research before every deal I post and I make sure it is the cheapest available at the time.

In the end, negs are going to discourage users and reps to post deals. Think of the votes as encouragement.

    • The neg is just to warn others not to waste their time. You (or someone) have now rightly marked the deal as expired.

Unfortunately, no stock deals are becoming too common at DSE.

Appreciate the post, and thanks for trying, but unfortunately it looks like no one but you manage to get this deal.

  • no more DS deals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
not the poster's fault but these Dick deals seem to be for a minute amount of stock available in like 1 store

All these crying little children complaining make me laugh. There WAS a deal. It has now gone. It is so pathetic all the crying and throwing a tantrum because you didn't get one.

K, thanks for posting the deal.

Ozbargain has rules so people's time is not wasted.
DSE now has a history of "deals" with almost no stock. Most seen lately would have less than 10.

      "Limited Quantity"

If your deal has limited quantity, please mention it in the description. If the quantity is too small then your deal may be removed. As a guideline, less than 10 quantity of items is not enough for a deal unless the item has a high price.

How is a poster expected to know how much stock they have? If we start assuming there's not going to be any stock, then OzBargain may miss out on some great deals — such as the Panasonic cordless phone deal posted today which lasted nearly 30 minutes before going out of stock.

Yes, Ozbargain does have rules. Here is one of them…

"Please do not vote negative just because a deal is sold out. If the title of a deal needs to be updated to reflect the deal no longer available, please use the REPORT link instead for mods to update the deal. Negative votes made for this reason will be revoked by mods."

I don't see a "rule" that says "If you are not fast enough to take advantage of a deal, please vote negative and throw a little tantrum and have a good cry."

I often miss out on deals, but never neg them. Grow up peeps. Limited stock was mentioned. Don't click it if you don't want to be frustrated.

If your deal has limited quantity, please mention it in the description

Please read the first line of the description.

If the quantity is too small then your deal may be removed

I don't monitor the stock levels at DSE.

  • I've got one, hardly used, I'm in northern suburbs Melbourne, anyone can have it for $20 (pickup only), email looch777(at)gmail(dot)com

    • I'll take it if no one has purchased it yet
