im after someink to suit a workforce 545, im look at 138 or 140, but after a few different place compatible doesnt seem to cut it…
anyone know the cheapest place to get genuine ink for the above?

I got mine from dcpstore.com.au (discount printer consumables). The only issue I had was that the colours were connected in the wrong order (so yellow was where magenta should be) I sent them an email and they sent me back instructions on how to reorder the colours. It was simple.

I have bad experience on CISS for me X-printer Epson. (purchased from ebay, CISS plus Printer, cost me app $110 on 2011)
They leak everywhere and very bad quality (I print a lot of books for my Grandma).
I Suggest go to this site to buy compatible ink, their price not bad.
www.tonerbee.com.au or see if you can go to Officeworks / HN if on sales, will save a lot.
JB Hifi now clearing all theirEpson 138 stock for $10 reduced from $22. I saw 20 packs in the g=bargain bin. Go for it.
If you have a Epson 545 printer or the likes this is for you guys out there. These cartridges have not been outdated, they are being cleared for some reason.
hey fizzydrink, I have an Epson workforce 633 that used 138 and 140 cartridges. I got sick of paying $100 for a set so looked for alternatives. I ended up buying a CISS (continuous ink supply system). It cost me $99 and came with the equivalent amount of ink that you would need to buy more than 10 sets of the Epson cartridges to match.
I checked youtube for a video of how to install it and its been fantastic. The ink quality is great and I have used it now for over a year and have not had to buy any further ink and estimate it will be another year or two before I need to again.
This has saved me a fortune and cant rave about it enough $99 vs >$1000 for CISS vs Epson. I doubt you would see the difference in quality/colour from the original ink. I cant speak for how well the colour lasts or fades but do know the things I printed last year still look as they did back then.
BTW Epson charge Australian customers between 40% and 60% more for ink than they do in the US, and the reason I went CISS is because I could not find any reasonably priced original Epson 138 / 140 cartridges.
