EDIT -- Dick Smith wont reply (Anyone get the $20 DSE PayPal cash back yet?)

UPDATE

Instead of starting new thread with old history , just updating this post.

Issue is , DSE will not give me the $20 paypal cash back on my offer even though I meet the terms. They wont even return any of my emails. I have sent them 5 emails now.

DSE told me the cash back is handled by Paypal and I should take it up with them.

I contacted Paypal and they said the cashback is handled by DSE and I should take it up with them.

I contacted DSE again and then their final response so far has been I take it up with some more "senior" in paypal.

What do I do?

Hey

for those who took advantage of Dick Smith, buy over $200 pay via payal and get $20 paypal money back offer, which was on about 8 weeks ago.

Has anyone got there $20 back from paypal?

I spent over $200 whilst the papypal banner was still being shown on Dick Smith site. I contacted Dick Smith as its been 8 weeks (supposed to get paid back after 6 weeks) and they told me yesterday its a paypal promotion that paypal in charge off, got nothing to do with Dick Smith and so I need to contact paypal.

Dont like my chance of getting the money.

    Damn, i didnt get mine. I contact DSE and they told me its an issue for paypal, i contacted Paypal and they tell me its an issue for dick smith!

    Looks like it is dicksmith, will contact them again.

    I bought the galaxy tab 10.1 for $279, so that should have been enough.

    Didn't it say the offer was limited to the first 500(i think) eligible purchasers? In which case those who've not received the cashback may have fallen outside the 500.

      yup bit it also said this:

      "Offer is limited to first 700 customers purchasing from dicksmith.com.au, made through Pay Pal and between these dates valid from 10am Tuesday 26th February 2013 until 11:59PM AEST Sunday 10th March 2013. You will know when the offer is used up when the banner advertisements on Dick Smith’s website are removed."

      At the time of my order the paypal banner was still up and was up for a few days later.

        Did they pull the banner before the 10th March? If no i suspect they let it ride to get some extra sales.

      Contact DSE again, by phone preferably, and ask for a supervisor. Tell them they can't just refer you to paypal over and over, and ask them to show you the part in the terms and conditions that says it is handled by paypal (unless you can find that in there yourself - in that case, contact paypal and chase it up).

      If they persist that they can't give you the cashback, as well as PayPal, then contact the ACCC (or simply tell pp/dse that you will), that should fix it pretty quickly.
