"Shortcut" to Frequent Flyer Gold Status

Going through SMH articles is a habit of mine and i came across this [ http://www.smh.com.au/executive-style/business-travel/how-to… ] and if it actually works, that would actually be kinda cool. Yet I don't think they realised that posting such "shortcut" to perks had actually crashed the website and now (atleast for me) people are unable to signup for it.

Going to the point, I wonder if there are any other FF or Point systems that are faster or more rewarding that other airlines?

Thanx OzAzn, just registered and got my 1000 bonus points. Will need to read in more detail tonight as to what this entails….
Funny closing from their welcome email:
"We remain at your disposal for any requirements you may have."

  • Awesome! I have a flight to London on SQ coming up next week! According to Agean M&B, it's 100% accrual for my fare type. Krisflyer only gives you some percentage of it. And got my bonus 1000 points!

    Thanks OzAzn!

  • anyone know how far back you can claim a flight?
i cant find it in their T&C?

    • 6 months, typical as i flew 7 months ago…

  • Sweet, signed up and got my bonus pts! Thanks OzAzn!

I usually fly United Business once a year to San Fran for work, instant Gold status! Sadly next trip is next year and they'll probably have taken care of this little loophole by then…

  • thanks, btw thai air are giving new enrolments 2500 points on any first flight.

  • Does this work with Air Asia X or Malaysian Airlines?

Has anyone found a similiar method for the one world alliance?

    • The problem with Oneworld, is that a lot of their members require flying on their own metal (aircraft) to qualify for status. So unless you'll be travelling on JAL or Royal Jordanian frequently, the answer is no. Also, 'status' and Air Asia do not go together :P
