Skype charged without permission - how do I contact them about it?

Long story short:

Got the deal the other month for a month free skype calls.
Didn't use it once.
In the fine print it said it would bill me every month after that for the service.
Stupid me, but oh well.
Saw the charge, cancelled the recurring.
Saw that they offer refunds if there's still time to go on the charge and you haven't used the service.
Only thing they can supposedly be contacted from is on a disused forum.

How can I contact them about this? Phone number? Email addy?

I hate videocalls but if that's the only way, I can do that.

Please help, does anyone know?

Same thing happened to me a few months ago. Got on to their live chat and they refunded me on the spot. Great service.

  • I had signed up with skype for free minutes for a month. After one month, I received a mail about an invoice to be charged to my credit card. I sorted the matter with an online chat. Suggest you set a reminder before the invoice is raised in the billing cycle.

  • Hi - I opted for free calls but cancelled after two days to stop recurring charges. If you keep chipping away at their support websites, you should have an email option where you can send your request - Make sure you mention your skype user ID. They definitely get back. Live chat may be available for premium users only. I find that $4.49 for 60 minutes of landline Australian calls valid for 3 months is good. I recommend Pennytel service too if you want cheap overseas calls. Good luck!

  • For anyone who is unaware as it was insanely tricky to get to, the email is:

    [email protected]

(Oh and thanks guys for pointing me in the right direction - much appreciated!)
