So you see education and course deal online every now and again, and they can be great (I'm completing one at the moment no problems)
But this one looked and was too good to be true
http://www.groupon.com.au/deals/melbourne/MWT-Institute/7169…
$75 for a Certificate IV In Training? or Business Management?
Made some enquiries, and the study IS online, but you must be able to attend classes once per week in Geelong, still not a bad deal
But, if you don't qualify for the government incentive program, it's an extra $500.
So, for the people near Geelong, who are 'unqualified' or have a certificate III or lower, then this deal is for you, for everyone else, very misleading.
You would think they would explain at least SOME of these conditions in the deal
Agreed. I saw a similar one where they didn't mention any of the fine print. The listing you point to has:
"Voucher holder must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident and be eligible to receive state funding under the Skills Victoria program
Not valid for use if voucher holder holds an Australian qualification which is equal to or higher than the elected course
Not valid if voucher holder is enrolled in more than 2 Australian government funded courses per year"
So if you know how the training subsidy programs work, you can deduce they will only let you proceed under certain conditions, but it wouldn't be very hard to spell those out a bit more clearly.
And I wouldn't be surprised to learn those points weren't in the original Groupon advert - they change the terms and ad content at their discretion, and unless you print screened, how can you prove what it said.
