  • Keep a eye out of a g73, g53 ASUS Republic of Gamers . notebook .there very high end like Alienware . some time you can catch them for $1000 .

Or just walk into jb hi fi . I love walking into jb . They price match and always offer deal like " I could ask my manager and give you"

Last time I brought a laptop I got a free bag and mouse

I think for $1000 you can get a apple macbook if that's your thing

  • Girlfriend got lenovo thinkpad e530 (the one for $806) she's real happy with that, and it's still on "special". It's got everything you want except the SSD, which with the $200 you have to spare could get a 256gb one and put it in yourself.

    • Hi Brouw3r,had a chat with Lenovo people, they said replacing with after market SSD will void the warranty..!!

      • Pretty sure they lied. I'm not a lawyer, but this is a user serviceable part.

        • yeah they lied

when it comes to warranty time they expect you to replace the drive for them once they sent you the part

however if you have any issues that arise from the ssd of course they're not obligated to help you

        • Thanks Bruce and tonyjzx,
will speak to them again and get back to you

        • its pointless

this is what i would do… buy the SSD

transfer the image from the hdd to the ssd

          keep the hdd

run the laptop with the ssd

any warranty issues, you can put the hdd back in the laptop and they're none the wiser

if you can do all that, you're sweet

        • Pretty much the exact thing I was thinking. Maybe they have those extreme easy to tear stickers on the HDD bay screws.

Seems extremely stupid that a tech company wouldn't offer an SSD (or even a hybrid) as an option on a customisable laptop
