  • Does this have a switch to change the fan speed?
Only reason why I ask is because it is very similar to the yumcha model you can get from Bunnings for much less and I know several companies simply rebadge them. But that one has switches just behind the fascia. Might want to check that one out first.

  • +1

Don't most of them have switch to change fan speed?
I would assume so as it has decibels for "high" & "low" settings.

Chef is part of the Electrolux group but not sure if that falls in the yumcha category for you.

  • Usefulness = 0

The oil will get into the motor after multiple recirculations and then it's dead. I'd give it a 3 month life span. I had one similar. In summer, the oil drips out from the filters into whatever youre cooking.

Better to get a Pacific Rangehood with proper oil removal and have it ducted out the roof. Got one of these. So much better than the retractable ones.

    • I don't cook with much oil, mostly steam & boil but yeh I see where your concern comes from.

I'm not really sure what the "recirculation" feature means. Because my kitchen does have a duct tube that goes out the roof.

      Please help me guys

      • Recirculation means it's not exhausting out your duct.

Also steam may well condense and drip into the food even if you keep the filters clean of oil.
Mine is a different one and this happens, not saying it will or won't; only to consider it..

  • RRE634S is $135 with free delivery. This is the exactly the same unit with 40mm front facia rather than 70mm front facia on RRE635S. Save yourself an extra $30.

Edit: Front facia is the strip you view at the front. It is stuck on the front of the bit you slide out. Details in manual online.

  • guys please help me.. I'm not sure what the front fascia is :\ Is that the part that slides out?

Also don't know what recirculation means

    • Recirculation is if you do not put in the top or rear vent. I would recommend you put in one of these vents. See manual listed above for install instructions.

      • Thanks Rifter, yeh I definitely intend to use the top vent.
And thanks for the heads up about the fascia! I think my cabinetry is built for the 40mm and the 70mm would be too high. Calling up to change the model now.

edit: great service from the customer service rep. Was easy to alter my order.

        • And a further $30 savings. Might be worth putting the RRE634S link/price in your post.

        • The guy on the phone said they only had one left in warehouse but I guess they can order more. But true, also saved $30

        • Looks like you took my unit ordered earlier. Just got a call to say my order would be delayed because they had run out of stock. Fortunately they will be getting more stock next week. My delivery now May 7. Just checked RRE634S link and they are still taking orders, just won't be delivered next week.

        • Oh I told the guy I was happy to wait for delivery as Im not in a rush so it might not necessarily be me lol
