Best headset for PS3 around $50?

Hi all. I'm looking to buy a headset with a mic to use playing online with my friends on my PS3.

Doesn't have to be wireless.

Not sure where to start looking or what the best brands actually are.

Looking to spend around $50 or so.

      unfortunately most of the ones in your link are not natively supported by PS3.
      Only wired USB (expensive) and bluetooth work with PS3. 3.5mm only works with a work-around which requires purchasing other peripherals and wireless doesn't work (can't remember if there's a work around for it though).

    was actually looking into this myself.
    from the hours of research I've done, IMHO the best one is actually the official sony bluetooth one. Many reviews say it is reliable, has good sound quality & can also be used when charging / docked which is a feature very few other headsets have.

    You can get the old one bagged from ozgameshop for about $31, or the 'new design' / '2.0' version for about $39. The new one is smaller & lighter & also has more features for mobile phone use & supposedly better noise cancellation.

    Unfortunately if you want to use a wired one, it has to be USB and USB headsets & microphones are quite expensive. You can get a 3.5mm to USB adapter / soundcard to use the cheaper 3.5mm plug microphones with PS3 but there are reports that recent FW upgrades have caused a lot of them not to work anymore.
    If you have any Singstar mics or a Playstation Eye, they can also be used as mics.
