24" Monitor ~$350

Looking to upgrade my old cheapo 24" benq montior which is making a small screeching noise. Don't really want a 27" as i have a small desk.
Wanting something with a decent quality image (although not really photo editting or anything so perfect colours arn't really required). Will be doing a bit of gaming but not much prob 20%. Budget around 350-350-450. Ideas?

Cheers

  • dell ultrasharp

  • I would also recommend Dell UltraSharp U2412M, except unfortunately it's on sale at the moment. Usually $279 for W-LED backed IPS panel.

    • You mean, 'not on sale atm'.

      • Oops. Yes you are right.

Regarding to U2412M, I see that it's already taken off from Dell for Home's monitors section. A new model (U2413 PremiumColor) has been added, but a lot more expensive. Maybe they are phasing out all the "M" models from UltraSharp.

  • have a look at the AOC 23.6" IPS screens, but for 350 you can get a 27".
ive seen it with my own eyes, its pretty impressive

  • Check out Scorptech or Centrecom (both in Melbourne) for monitors.

LG and Samsung are nearly identical, decent monitors for a decent price. AOC are a bit more budget, had at least 3 die on me in 5 years on various computers. Asus not sure, but BenQ are still up with the big hitters. $350 is generous for a 24" monitor.

As a quick Sydney search, came across this, might be a good place to start.
