I want to buy Adobe Acrobat Professional XI
Unfortunately I am not a student so I need a full edition.
I can get a full edition on EBAY for about $240 including postage from the USA.
I only really need a CD key as you can download the software itself from Adobe.
Any ideas?
student version is only $89 in Australia, which is pretty reasonable considering it is $111 on Amazon and $150 from Adobe!
if you have an earlier full pro version (8/9/X) you can upgrade to XI for $275 http://www.softwaretime.com.au/adobe-acrobat.
failing that, you can buy version X for $120 http://www.tek-micro.com/categories/Software/Adobe/, you could then buy an upgrade for $275 saving you heaps off the $599 retail price. if you don't need a specific feature in XI, you could just stick with Pro X, which is an excellent piece of software, and which I use daily for work.
if you don't already use Acrobat Professional, you should first consider the alternatives, such as Tracker PDF XChange, which is does almost all that Acro Pro does in a easier to use package http://www.tracker-software.com/product/pdf-xchange-pro ~$79,
or Nuance PDF Converter Enterprise or Professional http://www.nuance.com/for-business/by-product/pdf/index.htm, significantly better with OCR and Microsoft integration than Acrobat http://www.nuance.com/for-business/by-product/pdf/pdf-converter-enterprise/index.htm ~$130.
for the cost savings alone, those two are well worth downloading a trial to see for yourself.
Adobe is brilliant at their core design tools (but not everything they make), and their products' enduring popularity ensures they can demand far more than a fair price for their software, and legions of zealots will gladly empty their wallets for it.
