Both drives are Sata 3 (6Gb/s). There is no Sata 6 yet.
Neither drive come close to hitting the bandwidth limit of sata 3 (around 300MB's give or take) so no you will not see a difference.
Infact both drives are exactly the same, HGST make Toshiba drives now (Toshibia drives are exactly the same except for a different sticker)
These are the same drives that were $119 yesterday??
Shipping is still an absolute rip off.
That's what I was afraid off when I saw ITEstate…
credit card transfer in a non-https connection? direct bank trasnfer? no thanks
no paypal either
They have an interesting history have a bit of a look around whirlpool etc, I was considering purchasing from them a couple years ago until I did some research.
damn i was looking for this drive about 6 months ago for my NAS at that time not many shops sells and price is so high above $200.
this is very good, shipping to NSW is just $9 for 3 drives i tried.
IT ESTATE SPAM YOU! YOU HAVE TO UNSUBSCRIBE FROM SOMETHING THAT YOU NEVER SUBSCRIBED TO. YOU KEEP EMAILING THEM TO STOP SPAMMING BUT THEY NEVER STOP. THEY NEVER PICKUP YOUR CALL!!! NEVER GIVE THEM YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS. I AM REALLY GETTING SICK OF IT.
So sick in fact that you forgot to release the shift button…
I sense some frustration there zealmax.
I found the shipping reasonable, $11 to regional NSW for the hard drive and a motherboard. I have a couple of 2TB Deathstars bought a couple of years ago, they've been fine.
Isn't this deal expiring on 17/04? The price seems to have gone up to $169.
Will I notice the difference between the speed of this SATA 3 drive and say a Toshiba 7200rpm SATA 6 drive if I connect them to a SATA 6 controller?
The SATA 6 is about $10 more expensive, but if the performance was noticeably better I'd prefer the SATA 6..
