I have heard that keeping a listing alive for a long time (ie renewing it rather than relisting) helps with search results and the sell history helps to reassure people. The inflation is most likely for the reasons as listed by misa.
If you look at the selling history, the buyers didn't pay that much. E.g. for the item listed at 1112.39, they paid 2.39. I think some disgruntled person, perhaps an ex-employee, logged into the seller's account and changed all the prices.
My guess is that the seller does not have any in stock or doesnt want any buyers right now and has just inflated the price substantially so not to get a sane buyer.
If you look at the sale history you will see what they price is they usually sell at.
