  • How are these compare to the old deals?

in my searching on ozb and watching amazon price history, these Akko 45 packs regularly drop to around $15~$16. some users were posting them at $22~$23.

but the deal I have posted before for the greens and these blacks are down to almost $10 for 45, and they are also the newest V3 switches. I don't know the full details about the upgrades sorry I've been out of the keyboard community for a while now.

they usually upgrade small stuff like the design of the rails, the bottom of the switch where the pole hits, and top housing is usually already modified by now to have no interference with keycaps (this was probably done in V2).

Akko switches weren't known as "the best" when I was in the community. more like nice decent and easy to buy beginner switches which come prelubricated so you can just push them in and start typing.

  • Anyone know of anything that’s relatively silent by feels decent?

      relatively silent by feels decent?

silent switches use small silicone inside which mutes the noise. because of this they will always feel slightly soft at the bottom when you press the switch all the way. compared to a non silent switch which will just hit hard plastic with hard plastic.

these switches will not work in your keyboard because they are mechanical. you need the compatible optical switch replacements from Corsair.

they might look similar but they are totally different inside. optical switches are powered and have a laser inside which is detected by a sensor. the mechanical switch has none of that and communicates with the keyboard differently.

      • Ah right, I might get some heavier springs instead

I had MX silver I think in a previous keyboard, they were quiet enough but it’s unfortunate that I can’t swap to something better

can't use this. you need optical switches. i got a keyboard with optical switches for gaming. that was a stupid idea, optical is faster but you can't even physically go that fast so normal switches are just fine.

optical switches were hard for me to find, but i did find some and they are crap. horrible feel and sound, i went back to normal switches. gat black inks are my favourite, and don't forget to lube the spring and switch

      • Yeah my next keyboard I won’t be getting optical. They only had 2 options with the K100 too if remember right

    • I like my fairy switches but I suspect most people would dislike the feeling if you're used to mech keyboards.

Outemu do good silent switches. I use the Silent Cream Yellow(aliexpress.com) and they're really quiet while maintaining the feel. The Silent Lemon and Peach(aliexpress.com) are good too.

  • Any recommendations for long stem switches? I want north facing led keyboard and looking for some switched to accommodate this

  • OOS, or not shipping to the Sydney 'burbs

    Currently unavailable.
We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock.

    • OOS

    • I checked by clicking through after you commented yesterday, and I was still seeing it as in stock. without 30% coupon though so $16.

weird maybe it's a location thing? or just temporary OOS? normally when coupons are used up (often limited number) it just switches to no coupon straight away though.

      • Yeah I've seen some people get no option to buy if not shipping to their location. I clicked on show all sellers too, and it was showing no availability. I see its available now from Mighty Ape, but at $21. Maybe enough people had it in their cart/payment that it locked out stock or something. Who knows whats going on in the backend

        • it seems to depend on location and item.

it's happened to me a few times too, but specifically I remember ant bait (poison right) and some certain cleaning products (but other cleaning products were ok??).

for example for some people it might be alcohol or coin batteries? like their particular area has a rule about leaving alcohol unattended?? just what I thought.
