It might be worth having a look at previous deals before you post. So you can give us a real deal.

  • I believe there's a new bigger Ooni oven coming out?

    • Yeah the 24" Koda 2 Max. It's about $400 more than this.

  • +5

Not even that much of a deal, at this price I'd just splash out extra for the Gozney Arc

    • +1

Gozney will be doing a sale in Summer timeish, holding out for the gozney dome s1

  • If you were set on getting the Ooni Koda 16, I would sooner get the oven on it's own for $925 and buy the gozney pro peel. Those non perforated peels are asking for trouble.

  • Out of curiosity, how often do you have to make and eat Pizza to justify getting a Pizza Oven.

    • +1

well at $20-25 for a decent neapolitan pizza from a good takeaway & say $3 to make at home. You don't need to buy an Ooni there are plenty of copies out there for around the $300 mark (12") that will do a great job

      • +2

Well you're comparing a 12" oven with a 16" oven on price. Even the 12" Ooni is half the price of this oven and has a 5 year warranty.

        • +1

I'm not comparing I am responding to a question of how often to justify a pizza oven & saying it can be done cheaper, Not knocking the Ooni they are great but the copies aren't bad & while sure a 5 year warranty is great the copies aren't badly built & not a huge amount to go wrong with them

I got this 14" one for about $250:

        https://www.kegland.com.au/products/hizo-g14-stealth-black-p…

It does a very decent job once you dial in your dough and technique. I really don't know what an Ooni would offer above that, other than making my wallet a bit lighter.

Probably about as often as you use a BBQ? I guess it's whatever floats your boat. People spend a lot of money of lots of things they rarely use, but enjoy immensly when they do. BBQ's, Smokers, spa's, gym memberships for example.

      • I mean, I could probably cook every meal in a week on the BBQ and be happy with the variety. Not sure I could do the same with a pizza oven, so not a great comparison.

But I'd say if you're using it once a week it's worth having a dedicated appliance.

At this price I’d prob want to set a ghost kitchen in my backyard and set up on uber eats lol

I have the 12" one and I take it camping or to events and pump out pizzas for a large group. So in my particular use case, it has totally been a good purchase.

Especially since you can't order pizza in the middle of the bush.

We make pizza weekly. Used to spend ~$50 a pop on takeaway.

      • Same. Now I just spend $30 on ingredients and 4hrs of my time prepping, cooking and cleaning up ;)

This is not a deal and not even the cheapest price around.

    Cheaper elsewhere…. Botanex - $929 delivered.

    • -2

thanks for the detective work @WatchNerd

cheaper elsewhere as per link above

      • +1

Not a very good detective though $1091

Not on OP's side, but it pays to link the right bundle before dishing it out

        • Retracted for now
          That’s fair
The link above is for body only not bundle

Also, not great detective work in that they seem to be the same company:

14 Loftus Street, Bowral NSW 2576

I thought it was odd that it was the same price AND they both had odd _ex names…

Here I am thinking a simple oven will cook a pizza then you have these peps haha .. must be life changing shit lol.

    • +1

simple oven doesn't get hot enough to really get the base right these go to 500C

    • Can use a standard home oven but not get the same results as a dedicated pizza oven.

    • I reckon you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference between a $20-25 pizza at a restaurant and a pizza cooked on an Ooni (I can't vouch for other brands, but assume they are fairly similar).

Nothing like how it would turn out in an oven.

Is it worth the extra dough (see what I did there?)…? Up to you, but the quality is amazing.

I got sucked in and bought one last year (I posted the previous Ooni bundle deal on OzB). I don't use it as often as I should, so probably should have bought a cheaper brand/model to get better value for money. But that's my fault, not Ooni's.

  • Are there any pizza ovens that are suitable for outdoor use similar to this that use plumbed natural gas instead of the old BBQ bottles?

    • I believe the gozney dome multi fuel can use natural gas but definitely way more expensive.

      • No natural gas for the Gozney Dome.

        • oops, not for Australia at least.

    • That's been discussed before on OzB and the consensus was natural gas wouldn't calculate that much better as it's less calorific. NG would be more convenient if you have a handy tap, but the selection of ovens is… none, I think.

Gozney dome multi fuel from the previous comment doesn't seem to be able to do that.
