I'm still rocking my Dell S2721DGF and loving it.

    • +2

      Hell yeah. I'm using a S2721DGF next to a S2716DG.

    • +1

Me too. I have two S2721DGF for ~$420 each for over a year now and very satisfied.

Based on reviews it seems this is the successor model to it. 27" 1440P @ 165Hz seems to be the sweet spot.

      • +4

Apparently the G2724D is cut back on quality compared to the older S2721DGF but the new price reflects this. Gladly holding onto both my S2721DGF monitors.

    • +3

So many S2721DGF family members, I'm loving it!
Thanks to OZB, I jumped on them the moment they were available, around the $400 mark, yes. Rock solid monitors.

    • +1

I went through a minimalist phase and sold mine and now I wish I hadn't, was so good, don't know what to buy now

    • +1

Yeah I've got one too, sucks that I kept holding off getting a second one and then suddenly they were EOL.

Tempted to get one to replace the dodgy Samsung one I have

    • +1

      Same. Wish I bought 2.

    • +1

Bought 2 over 2 years, unfortunately the first one died at 3.5 years.

    • +1

      Same bro it's the 🐐

  • +4

This may be a good price at this time, but just for reference the G3223D was $310.41 9 months ago - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/792521.

    • That's an INSANE deal holy hell

    • Seems like all of the crazy monitor specials are for 32". 🥲

    • Does that support VRR over HDMI? There doesn't seem to be an rtings review on it. Only on the 4k Q model.

      • It supports VRR over HDMI but only 144hz not the full 165hz.
See here for all freesync certified monitors.
        https://www.amd.com/en/products/graphics/technologies/freesy…

        • Hmm I've seen some Reddit owners saying the 32 doesn't

I have the g3223d 32 inch 1440p model and it doesn't work with vrr even in console mode. I wonder why the 27 inch version works with it

And even on Dell's website it says it doesn't

*2 - The PlayStation 5 must be updated to the latest firmware version to support VRR. Not applicable for the S2721HGF, S2422HG, G2422HS, G2723H, S2722DGM, S3222DGM, S3422DWG, G3223D monitors.

And the AMD link doesn't specifically say it supports VRR over HDMI tbh. Just what refresh rates it does support over HDMI.

        • don't think most people would be able to spot the difference..

there was a LTT video about this

  • Good for office/productivity work?

    • +3

Yep, 1440p IPS panel and normal RGB so good text clarity.

    • +1

Maybe take a look at this from computer alliance for $279
      https://www.computeralliance.com.au/27-samsung-s7-ls27a700nw…

    • +1

Good for mixed use but overkill if you're never going to play games on it compared to a cheaper 4K 60hz monitor.

The one non-gaming use of VRR I can think of is removing judder in video playback, but that's only supported by mpv at the moment.

      • A high fps monitor makes the mouse cursor movement smoother too. Maybe not worth a big difference in price but it's nice.

  • Got a G274QPF-E2 which was cheaper than this.. but maybe doesn't work with VRR on PS5?

    • Yep, it doesn't.

  • I've been waiting for this monitor to go on special for some time.

Anyone reckon it will get lower at EOFY deals? Or is the $319 historic deal posted above not likely to return?

    • +1

      ATL is $350.12?

But this is cheaper with perks code + 10% gift cards

  • +1

Ugh. Really want to buy this, but just purchased my iPad Pro 2024. Don't really need this.
    24", 1080 p is sufficient for now ><

  • +2

Down to $369 with the mother's day perks coupon.

  • I'd rather the $500 for the 144hz 4k IPS dell monitor

  • +1

Whats the best sub $300 monitor for instant tax write off?

  • Thanks for posting - purchased two!

  • I am deciding between this and the ASUS TUF gaming VG27AQ3A 27" QHD 180Hz IPS currently $379 at PLE. Struggling to understand if features like 130% sRGB and ASUS low motion blur sync are really that much of a difference. Everything else appears very similar in specs. Would be using for gaming but not too concerned about FPS style but would still play

Would love to know if people have any thoughts on this. Thank you!

    • Gaming on PC, Xbox or PS5?

      • This would be for PC.

    • trying googling the model and look at youtube video reviews
or checking if the monitor is on display in the store….

Also need to know if your GPU even will run games with those higher refresh rates

  • Hi,
I'm trying to decide between this G2724D deal or spending an extra $100 and getting the AW2724DM.

From what I have read the AW doesn't have as clear a text clarity as the G2724D. I'm not a gamer and am a WFH, web surfer, YT viewer etc.

I'm trying to future-proof myself as much as possible because I feel this will probably be the last monitor I purchase and it will see me out until my time is up.

Would the $100 difference be worth it for more connectivity options, and would I notice between the lesser clarity with the AW?

    • You might consider a 4k 60hz monitor if you don't need the gaming features.

      • Hi,

Thanks mate. I purchased a 4k Dell going back a month or 2, to be talked out of using it because the fonts are so much smaller to read in 4k. Also, I was told my old PC would not be capable of running a 4k monitor. I returned it unopened. So yeah you can see I'm very confused about what I should be looking for regarding a monitor for work, web browsing etc

May I also ask what the perks code is all about?

        • +1

I just created a new account on JB and just got an email saying I get $30 off purchases over $300 until 17th May. That would be the mothers day perks offer going around. Brings the monitor down to $369. Seems like a pretty good deal!

        • you should get 32" or higher for 4K

27" is probably too small for reading text at 4K
though you can increase the font size or scaling..

perks is code you get sent when you are a member
          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/844997

you also get $10 join code
          and birthday code.

  • +1

@benhersey Thanks for the post, I bought the Dell G2724D via ClickNcollect from JB last night for $369 using the perks code and installed it this morning.
After watching a YT unboxing/setup video for the Dell G2724DI discovered that I'm meant to change the Windows setting for the refresh rate and HDR,
which I didn't realise I thought that would be automatic, yeah I know Noob here!!
Anyhow the display is beautiful, I was watching the latest Star Trek Discovery episode and the colours are very vibrant. 5 stars from me!!

      • Yep - 144hz will give you a black screen with your mouse cursor visible

        why?

also why get 144hz if you can only do 120hz for PC?

        • Probably not all PCs - but this was the case on mine. Black screen with cursor visible until I changed from 144hz to 120hz. Maybe it was my dock or outdated drivers.

  • Can get it for $389 with the normal JB perks code. Kind of deciding between this one or the Dell U2724D which I can get at Centre Com for $499. Is that a good deal and is it worth paying a bit extra for what will primarily be a work monitor? It has a 120hz screen. Is there much difference in gaming capability between 120hz and 144hz? I will prob play games occasionally, but mostly it will be for work.

Here is the link to the U2724D

    https://www.centrecom.com.au/dell-ultrasharp-27-qhd-ips-120h…

    • Was wondering about the differences in the choice. If you're mainly working, I would go for the U2724D over the G2724D. The U is apparently Ultrasharp which is Dells top tier monitor for clarity, with the G I believe this is either G-Sync or Gaming. We have this model at work, though I found it shows a lot of reflection glare.

I dunno, it it was me I would go the lower cost monitor for the 165hz (not 144hz). I think the other thing to consider is the number of ports on each monitor (HDMI, USB, USB-C etc). I know the U2724 has a lot. I'm not sure about the G2724D.

Hopefully this helps. Is one worth $130 more? (Getting this for $369 with code vs Centrecom $499).
