I commented the same thing on an older deal. Same issue with the Gan prime version it’s the same shape.
it’s ok if you stick vertically into a powerboard on the floor though etc.
Just use a bit of gap filler or silicon. Permanent fixture.

are you suggesting squeezing silicone or gap filler into the socket then plugging the charger in? sounds dangerous. what if the gap filler creates a connection between the positive and negative metal? not an electrician but that sounds like something could burn.

If you are not a licensed electrician, you are not allowed to install permanent fixtures.
Just a little bit of pressure and give each of the angled prongs a very slight bend outwards and they hang on a lot tighter.
Agree just few months ago went to trip overseas their plug is the 2 flat prong. Not anker but similar design. At hotel… constant worry the thing will fall. Just dont. not a pleasant experience
In US, the Anker 735 are supplied with a silicone stabilizer which has tiny suction cups and sits on the charger's base to stabilize it while it's plugged into the wall
The outlet looks very offended by that silicon stabiliser…….
Suggest OP review the description. Anker have not made it easy with their product naming. They have two 735 chargers:

Ribbed texture on the front panel. Some poor asian spent a month with chisel to craft these so it costs more. /jk
One is GaN II, while other one is GaN Prime. GaN prime is alegedly better because it supports Active Shield 2.0 (some temperature measuring nonsense) and PowerIQ 4.0 (again some power distribution nonsense) Difference described here: https://support.anker.com/s/article/What-are-the-differences…

This model is the inferior model of the 735. The better (and more expensive model) is GaNPrime.

I think with the amount of devices a modern home has now one needs a 6-8 port charging station. Otherwise there will be so many various chargers scattered around the house…

does just fine with low watt 5v stuff (only 10 watts per port with all ports used). I have this one on my desk and every single port has a cable in it. one of the cables isn't connected to anything though it's just there to charge low voltage USB-C devices like TWS earphones.
so if I use every port on this one just on my desk. pretty sure every home needs at least one of them.
also the anker I linked has been reliable for years now. but apparently USB-C PD ones arent so good. UGreen has some new ones out but if you read the negative amazon US reviews they all start failing port by port after a year.

I don't have my entire powerboard filled with USB chargers, but I have found that 6 port powerboard isn't enough anymore. I am often plugging and unplugging stuff and yes I am using a few double adapters. 6 port was enough until covid hit maybe. I should have thought ahead and bought a 8 port.
A few comments about the shaping not holding into the socket strong enough due to it sticking out.
Any alternatives that are just as good with more of a square or vertical shape?

yeah, nah. When choosing a charger, don't recommend this typical "usb-a + usb-c" combination. People will end up with mixture of cables. Standartize them all with USB-C and life gets easier.
yeah not sure if you noticed but my recommendation above is for dual USB-C Mophie.
I wouldn’t rely on random brand chargers tbh.
@harshbdmmaster718 The Mophie looks good, but my use case is different to Vecernik, so I'd actually prefer to have that USB-A connector on it.
That's why I was considering the Anker.
If the Mophie had the USB-A on it, I'd grab it. I'm not ready for the switch away from "A" just yet.
The Anker 543 is a favourite of mine. I just use a US / EU / AU figure 8 cable depending on which destination I head to. It's flat and packs much better

would be interesting to see anker come out with a charger with 5 or 6 USB-C ports. other brands seem to be struggling to do it right but hopefully anker can manage it.

Thanks! Shame about the extra cable though. Would use it mainly when travelling, so trying to avoid extra cables.
It's a bonus - gives extra 'reach' from the powerpoint, and you can rest the 'square' on the coffee tablet etc.
few reviews mention that it cannot charge a laptop due to max. 45W output. What's your experience?
I have a Macbook Pro, it charges but not super fast. I just leave it plugged in overnight. I don't bring the 96W charger (or whatever it is). It's happy to chug along and charge even with 20W, so 45W is fine for my needs
