I am surprised no one has mentioned it yet but EU/UK versions are heavily nerfed in terms of available wifi channels and transmitting power compared to the Australian version.

  • Looks like it's been around this price for months? https://au.camelcamelcamel.com/product/B09R4NQ89N

    • it seems correct, but no one posted it here

  • Will this matter if this is from Germany and not Australia?

Power brick, different transmit power, the UI yelling STARDENBURDENHARDENBART at you?

Not really, but may need adapter for the power supply.
Note that this S variant has more LAN ports. I have the Australian XD6S and it's been good.

      • according to the reviews, the non-S variant has 3 LAN ports and the S variant has 1.
look at the reviews from Frank M and Andy_ng
The listing pics appear to be misleading

        • My bad. I had checked the pictures. I must have the non-S then.

It matters, don't buy German or UK

  • Don't buy UK WiFi routers, the fun police have limited the WiFi signal strength. I bought Chinese xiaomi ax6000 and that has 1000Mw WiFi output Power, one router does the whole house. Australia has max 200Mw. Router menu is in Chinese but can translate with browser.

      That poor front-end module.

      (2400 - 2483.5 @ 40), (20)
      (5150 - 5350 @ 80), (20), DFS, AUTO-BW, NO-OUTDOOR
      (5725 - 5850 @ 80), (33)

You would only get that output power on the 5ghz band, and only if you were running it at channels 149+.

Everything else would be 100mW max. (20dBm)

      Australia has max 200Mw

Pretty sure I've called BS on this one before.

      (2400 - 2483.5 @ 40), (4000 mW)
      (5150 - 5250 @ 80), (200 mW), NO-OUTDOOR, AUTO-BW
      (5250 - 5350 @ 80), (100 mW), NO-OUTDOOR, AUTO-BW, DFS
      (5470 - 5600 @ 80), (500 mW), DFS
      (5650 - 5730 @ 80), (500 mW), DFS
      (5730 - 5850 @ 80), (4000 mW), AUTO-BW

Probably don't listen to the person who does not get the SI unit naming wrong.

  • Damn.. Bought this a couple of days ago, not realising it was a different model to local stock. Any experience/thoughts on Amazon's (international) return policy? It's been shipped but won't arrive for another couple of weeks. Doesn't seem to be a way to cancel the order. Never had to return an item before due to change of mind, so any helpful suggestions are appreciated.
