Half the fun of Wonder is playing online.

Thanks, just grabbed Mario Wonder 😁

  • I never played many Mario games and I tried Odyssey but didn't hooked. Should I try more?

    • Depends if you like side scrollers or not. If you have NSO there should be a few of the older games on it.

    • I wish Shotgun Mario for the Nintendo 64 would be be made by Nintendo for the Switch or Switch 2/Pro.

    • It really depends on why you think Odyssey was not for you. Comparing a 3D platformer (like Odyssey) and a 2D platformer (like Wonder), they're pretty different. If Odyssey felt a bit complex or confusing, Wonder might be good.
If you've enjoyed other 2D platformers, i'd say there's a strong chance you'll enjoy Wonder.
Moving onto Super Mario RPG, if you've played and enjoyed any Final Fantasy or Pokémon games, you might enjoy Super Mario RPG.
Definitely don't give up on the franchise straightaway! If you have NSO, you could try other Mario games from SNES/NES/N64.

  • This game made me realise I'm too old for 2d mario games. Way too easy and short. Well produced and quality game for younger people though

    • What about 4D?

In 20 years with worse reflexes, it might get challenging again.

    • For the most part i agree. Although towards the end i had to bring out old mate Yoshi for a couple levels to get me though. :). I didn't think much of the badge system though. Used the hat for pretty much every level except for the water ones.

Fortunately the online makes up for it being too easy. I found it fun just screwing around trying to help other players. Getting to the end of Climb to the Beat and watching people fail over and over only to just barely reach me for a revive and clear the level is funny.

Even with playing with ghosts, it's fun just seeing people react to you, try to give you hints, or wait for you at the finish line so you can finish together. To get the most out of the game you really should buy it now when millions are still playing online. Three years from now when you risk a level having no one else in the world playing it would be a downer.

Really enjoying Super Mario RPG after buying it during Black Friday (along with Wonder) from JB.

I bought myself Wonder for Christmas but haven't opened it yet… wonder if I'm sufficiently cheap that I'd return it to JB and buy again with this sale.

Bluey video game comes down to $53.10

This deal is marked as expired but still works and brings Wonder/RPG down to $54

  • Online doesn't work with coupon above and birthday voucher, might need to go in store tomorrow

    • Just tried the same! Birthday coupon terms and conditions state cannot be used with another coupon.

My fix: Ordered one at 10% off, another at $10 off as a present.

  • Fire Emblem Engage is currently $49, so after discount should be $44.10 :)

  • not sure what i was thinking buying mario on release to save for an xmas present…

  • just finished this game, pretty fun, but the camera works are a pain for 2 players - most levels, the camera only follows 1 of the player.
