  • Hi OP, do you also have discounted accessories?

    • +1

Yes, there will be some discounts on accessories, the best deals are on the refurbished machines.

  • +7

50% off is misleading when comparing a used item to a brand new item at RRP.

    • Brand new Ryobi at half price better than these overpriced overrated ones.

  • Website?

    • -2

Sorry, only in person at the NSW DSC

      • Hmm. Supa far from me. Thanks anyway

  • -8

I have to neg this, 50% of brand new $RRP on a used item? A used item to me is worth 20-50% of its original value. So to me these are standard used item prices.

Also is this a typo? Dyson Purifier Cool - $349 (RRP new $349)

    • +12

      It's refurbished.
Idk why people are out here acting like it means it's beat to shit.
64gb Steam decks sell for $399 (USD) new AND $319 (USD) refurbished. That's a saving of less than 30%

But the world isn't complaining about that.

You receive the same coverage under ACL buying the refurbished ones vs new ones.

      • Would you receive the same coverage under ACL? Surely, a refurbished item with a significantly lower cost would not be expected to last as long as a brand new item - so the "warranty" coverage for a refurbished item under ACL would be less than for an equivalent brand new item.

          • @[Deactivated]: It says they only have 1 year manufacturer warranty.

            • @hoyagg957: ACL is separate to manufacturers warranty.

    • I disagree solidice, it’s a decent discount on retail. Have you seen the discounted prices of apple refurbed items? You’ll find that they’re not too much off retail as well. This discount is substantial enough off the retail for a great product that is well built and lasts. My parents have a Dyson v6 they bought in 2014 which they refuse to upgrade cause there’s nothing wrong with it. Replace the battery and is as good as new

When did a discount no longer become bargain worthy?

      • I’d have to agree, my V6 slim just goes on and on.. just battery replacement and its back to 30min suction time.. also bought discounted accessories with it before.. can’t justify getting new and getting accessories again..

        • Can you guys recommend reputable places for your v6 battery replacement ? We are due for one and I'm a bit uncertain about where to get. Thanks!

          • @swampson: For context.. the Dyson direct quote was over 100 (from memory, couple months back).. the 3rd party ones about 60 I think. But just not sure which 3rd party co to trust

Can't be bothered driving to a different state today

What happened to 2 year ACL warranty

    • The 2 year is voluntary warranty by Dyson

ACL could dictate them fix an item much longer then 2 years depending on price and expected useful life

    • New machines come with a two year guarantee, and refurbs come with one.

Of course, this is in addition to your consumer law rights. You can find full info on the guarantee (including the one for refurbished machines) here: https://www.dyson.com.au/footer-primary-links/guarantee-term…

      • -2

Why dont you just say 2 years then.

        You would get more interest.

        • Why is it 2 years? Isn't it 1 year since these are refurb?

          • @xcez: Easternculture is referring to Australian Consumer Law

            • @[Deactivated]: I wasn't sure where it said in the ACL that it's 2 years for vacuums, will have to revisit the site and review in more detail

              • +1

@xcez: ACL works based on what is a reasonable expectation for a product.
It's just commonly said "2 years" as thats what apple provides under ACL.

A vacuum from a reputable company like dyson should most definitely have a higher life expectancy that 2 years, let alone 1.
So you'd likely not have any issues getting it resolved.

  • How many are available in total?
    One or more of each?
Any way to find out if they are still available before spending 2 hours round trip to go to the warehouse?

There are quite a number of all machines. If you want something specific reserved, DM me.

Lol savings are all over the place

Up to 50% off RRP, yet these are more than 50% off (that's nice I guess)
    Dyson Gen5 - $699 (RRP new $1599)
    Dyson V15 - $499 (RRP new $1199)
    Dyson Cyclone V10 - $399 (RRP new $999)
    Dyson V8 - $299 (RRP new $699)

But realistically, the savings are probably only up to 50% off compared to market price for brand new
eg: V10 is $799 at Bing Lee brand new (https://www.binglee.com.au/products/v10-cyclone-447954-01)
    Gen 5 is $997 at Dyson's own store (https://www.dyson.com.au/dyson-gen5detect-iron-purple)

    Then there's this?!
Dyson Purifier Cool - $349 (RRP new $349)
Dyson Pure Cool - $399 (RRP new $799) - get it for the same price brand new (https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/dyson-pure-cool-purifying-tow…)

The title says up to 50% off. In the current climate any discount is a good discount. Refurb yes, but you’ll still get a new item warranty and ACL protections. So it’s still a deal to me

  • Which vacuum for hardwood floor only?

    • Out of the machines being sold today, I would recommend the V15 or the Gen5 - both of these machines come with a Fluffy head with either a green laser or LED to illuminate dust on the floor.

The soft roller is great for picking up larger debris (brekky cereal, toast crumbs etc) as well as fine dust (e.g. flour) simultaneously.

Im a big fan of this head personally tbh

      • I love it too. I bought the v15 last year and it's my favourite thing :D

  • +1

Are there lots available of each item? Trying to weigh up whether it's worth taking a chance (long drive! and I'm assuming an item can't be put on hold)

    • +1

Yeah. There are a fair number of nearly all machines. If you’d like something put to the side, DM me. Can only hold for the day though.

  • Too bad nothing in melb

  • -1

Agree, bit cheeky advertising the old x% off RRP of used items instead of new.
Some people complain their vacuum bin is scratched on new ones as it is.

I got the V8 ultimate edition plus 3 extra bits brand new for $440, 55% off (plus some cashback I think).
Actually they are $499 which isn't too bad now and no point spending more on higher end models IMO.

  • +1

Are the batteries refurbished in these or have they been used previously?

    • The batteries in these may be refurbished, however they all meet brand new specification.

    • -1

I'd want a new battery at least - or a report stating it's 'good'

Facebook event by the Cronulla Sharks???
Marketing company using the wrong page?

    Scott Morrison is that you?

    • Not quite - this was done in partnership with the Cronulla Sharks.
