You may have seen the ripper deal where you can get 2 Pairs of Glasses from Specsavers for ‘only’ $199. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/764410

However, in-store they had other sales going on. Most likely nationwide, if anyone sees it in-store also, please confirm, sorry I wasn’t able to take a photo of the signage but I have proof of my receipt if really needed.

Deal 1:
2 Pairs of Glasses for $199
+
20% off ALL Lens Options

Deal 2:
1 Pair of Glasses @ 25% off
+
25% off ALL Lens Options

I personally only got 1 pair as I only needed the one as I have a high prescription, so it would’ve cost more to get another pair without discount.

Hopefully this post helps encourage people who were on the fence if they should get new glasses after the other deal was posted.

IMO, lens options are good, kids like the transition lenses that change from sunnies to normal glasses ($100 rrp), people with higher prescriptions benefit from cheaper thinner lenses (1.67 @ $180 rrp (approx 40% less than if there was no lens thinning)). The rest are meh, not really worth it imho.

I wasn’t sure if this should be merged into the other deal, if it needs to be, I don’t mind.

Edit: I was told this deal with the $199 deal ends sometime in May, not 100% when

Btw, for those actual bargain hunters, apparently each Specsavers store has a day every Quarter that is their ‘special day’ or something, where the deal is 2 pairs for $199 + 50% off all lens options, however, staff only get notified a few days beforehand so it’s hard to predict exactly when the day will be.

  • The specials come around so often you shouldn't ever need to buy a new pair without some sort of extra deal thrown in unless you break your glasses. Surely most people that wear glasses have a spare pair anyway?

    • this one comes once a year i think. around the same time. the other sales arent as good though

      • Yeah I dunno. We always seem to get some sort discount for lenses maybe because we are Medibank members. I usually get the UltraClear and or Polarising lenses depending on the glasses I need. I always get two pairs even if I don't really need them. I usually end up $50 or so out of pocket a year for 2 pairs. I do try to get glasses when they offer free Polarised lenses if I need sunglasses.

  • It's sounds great till they change your $500 on top for your lens

  • Argh! Just ordered two weeks ago and ready for pick up. Might try to sweet talk them. Cross fingers.
