        Assume so. I used them to buy a Pixel 7 Pro last time so know the process. It's just like paying with a card, so don't see why there would be any exclusions

      Yes.

      However, if you are not familiar with TCN gift cards and how they work, it will require some explanation…

      Instore

      You can use TCN gift cards to pay for pretty much anything at a JB Hi-Fi store (including iPhones, iPads, Macs, etc), as long as the JB Hi-Fi staff member lets you do that. As long as you treat the TCN gift card as an EFTPOS gift card (i.e. tell the staff member you have EFTPOS card(s) to redeem), you should be fine. I actually have not heard of a recent situation where a JB Hi-Fi staff member has refused a customer to use TCN gift cards to pay for iPhones, iPads, Macs, etc.

      The only Apple product where you will likely find a JB Hi-Fi staff member may not be willing to let you use a TCN gift card as a payment method is Apple gift cards, because some staff believe you are not allowed to use a gift card to purchase a gift card.

      Online

      You cannot directly redeem physical TCN HIM gift cards (i.e. the gift cards in this deal) on the JB Hi-Fi website, as the gift cards in this deal are EFTPOS cards, which cannot support card-not-present transactions (including online transactions). Instead, you will need to go to the TCN website and exchange your TCN HIM gift card for a digital JB Hi-Fi gift card (which will be emailed to you, and it usually takes a few minutes for the JB Hi-Fi gift card to be sent to you). You can then redeem an unlimited number of JB Hi-Fi gift cards on the JB Hi-Fi website (and yes, you can use JB Hi-Fi gift cards to pay for iPhone, iPads, Macs, etc).

          At the time of writing this comment, yes, it is available. (I think it has actually been available again since December.)

          As you point out though, the option to exchange for a JB Hi-Fi gift card can be removed at any time without warning. TCN usually does this for JB Hi-Fi in the lead up to Black Friday and does not restore the exchange option until around early-to-mid December.

          To be fair, JB Hi-Fi could be removed from the TCN HIM gift card or the wider TCN scheme at any time. Three retailers (Buy Aussie Now, Diesel, Temple & Webster) were removed from the TCN gift card scheme last year and there was no warning…

      It doesn't look like this is nationwide, as the SA catalogue shows 10% Bonus when you purchase a Myer Gift Card.

      I would have been surprised if this deal was state-specific, because Woolworths generally don’t do state-specific instore gift card deals. The last time I remember there were state-specific instore gift card deals at Woolworths, it was back when Everyday Rewards was not available in TAS (i.e. 2020), which meant that TAS missed out on all instore gift card deals with bonus Everyday Rewards points.

    i bought this on the last sale for a few retailers. I find the swap system annoying. It would have been better to use it like a ETFPOS card. i am having issue to do the swap for adorebeauty atm for example.

      No, because the TCN HIM gift cards in this deal are EFTPOS gift cards. However, JB Hi-Fi’s checkout system will treat them like any other EFTPOS card.

      Having said that, JB Hi-Fi staff may treat TCN HIM gift cards as a gift card if you are trying to purchase a gift card; some JB Hi-Fi staff believe you cannot use gift cards to purchase gift cards, so even though the checkout system should let you use a TCN HIM gift card to purchase an Apple gift card (as an example), a staff member could always stop the transaction if they don’t like what you’re trying to do.

      I assume the participating retailers pay a percentage to TCN/Ultimate to join their gift cards club. They use that percent to provide discounts to us.
