    No cable ties, no deal

Joke too abstract, woosh by downvoters.

  • thanks op - had a quick scan of comments on previous deals and grabbed one

  • Thanks, bought one. Had missed last few deals on this.

  • I’m after a drill bit kit with less individual pieces, but still high quality. Anyone got any suggestions? This kit has it all, but seems overkill. The price is amazing though

    • +16

Putting all the ideas in your comment together and I think you've answered your own question - this kit is the one for you. Just take out the parts that you won't use/don't need and keep the rest - thus, "less individual pieces" but "high quality" because "the price is amazing".

      • Haha. Thanks. I guess it could be the kit for me. I just like keeping my tools to a minimum. There are lots of components that will simply collect dust. And I don't want to have to keep replacing the bits I use the most, which will inevitably break with time.

      • think of the environment though. if everyone thought like that the earth would be much more polluted

    • The 41 piece bosch set is $19 https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B00GGKMM9K?th=1

"Thanks to the double-ended bit driver (angle screwdriver), screwing in hard-to-reach places is no longer a problem."

        Don't mind if I do!

    • I've had a Frost drill bit set from Bunnings for a couple of years now. Drill bits only, no extra fluff, and great quality.

  • +1

I feel like I dont need it but so tempting for the price and brand…😵‍💫

  • +2

    I have two. Super handy!

  • Thanks, I needed to get organised

  • +3

Decent set. Drill bits aren't overly strong but good enough for most standard work, and you can replace them with better bits when they fail.

    • +1

This is exactly what I do. I have the 83pc, think I got it ~9yrs ago. Most of the frequently used and fragile bits, like the 2mm HSS, have been replaced a few times. Super handy to have just about every bit you’d need in the one carry case.

    • +2

screwdriver bits are also weak, I bought this a year ago and have gone through all the PH2 bits already

  • Some reviewers on Amazon were critical of quality.
I’ve been waiting on this for awhile and now I’m a bit disillusioned.
Only wanted one just for “once in a blue moon” sort of thing, so it should be ok and not brake trying to drill a hole in a brick wall for example?

    • +3

I have used these into brick wall no dramas. The quality is definitely above your cheap brands and well worth the price.

      • Thanks for your input. 👍
        Getting one now.

  • +5

Got one, now I need to by a drill to go with it.

    • +3

      Speaking like a true ozbargainer.

      • +1

And after the drill arrives start thinking what to do with it.

    • +2

I decided to go with Bosch corded drill. Super cheap and batteries one less thing to worry about.

Maybe if end up doing a lot more home repairs I'll cordless but no point for now.

      • +3

I've had this drill for 10 yrs and it's great, totally agree about the batteries but I always get negged when i recommend corded tools

        • +1

Meh. $40 for something I'll use 2-3 times a year, vs $200-300 for a "decent" brand battery one.

          I'll take the bargain

  • +2

Ive had one of these and used it for 6-12 months on odd jobs around the place. Never had an issue, I highly recommend it.

Note I use it for DIY. Steal at this price IMO.

  • +1

I still have my other one i got at the last deal. Bought again. Ive not had drill bits as good as these in a set at this pricepoint.

  • +2

I bought one last time around. Its handy and made good use if it, the quality is reasonable but giddamn the bits are hard to pry out of the rubber slots.

    • +1

Yeah - almost damn impossible to get them out.

    • How's the case otherwise? Thinking it would be handy storage to keep replacing bits in.

  • would the screw driver bits work in an impact driver?

    • Yep I am curious about whether these are appropriate for an Impact Driver too

    • Anyone know as I'm interested in this as I have a Bosch Blue Impact driver I would be using them with

    • I use them with my dewalt impact and they work very well. Make sure you use the right bit for the job obviously

    • Yes, they will work.

Are they designed / certified for it, probably not.

  • +1

At this price worth getting but the drill bits, especially masonry, are pretty crap.

  • +2

This is definitely worth it for the price, but as others have said, the quality on the bits is average. The metal drill bits don't cut well and break easily. But for a DIY around the house kit, this thing is hard to beat.

  • For wood this kit is totally fine but if your working on steel or masonry then best to get a quality single size bit for the job.

  • Does this work well with hardwoods or will these snap?

    • Should be fine to use these bits on hardwood.

      • Thanks. Usually bits in these types of sets even those market as hss snap when you try to drill into hardwood such as decking joists. Will give these a try

        • If you do the in and out peck drilling while you drill this will eject the wood chips and your drill bit will feel free and mighty also reduce heat since less friction it will not snap. Also forcing your drill bit isn't good because it loses tempering as it over heats.

This set has the wood drill bits with the brad point it has flutes designed for higher ejection rate you should try those. Keep your bits sharp.

  • Can someone recommend a drill to go with this ?

  • Thanks OP. Bought it. Great suggestion

  • +1

thanks, OP. I just bought this drill set and the corded drill listed above for a total of $31.77. some promotions got applied at checkout. hope this helps someone.

    • I would love to try out if I didn't reach the purchase limit of 1

    • Are you sure you didn't have a promotional credit that auto-applied at checkout? Both items with all available promotions applied come out to $66.40 (Delivered, via Amazon Prime) for me.

      • hmm, this is what it says on the order details, maybe I'm looking at it wrong?

        Item(s) Subtotal:$60.37
        Delivery:$5.45
        Total Before GST:$65.82
        GST:$6.57
        Total:$72.39
        Promotion(s) Applied:-$40.62
        Gift Card Amount:-$31.77
        Grand Total:$0.00

and in my gift card balance it shows:
Gift Card Activity Page 1 of 1 (11 total transactions)
        Date Description Amount (in AUD)
        21 November 2022 Payment towards Amazon.com.au order -$31.77
        4 September 2022 Gift certificate claim $76.06

as you can see, only $31.77 was used from my credit

        • Yeah looks like you had a promotional credit. I placed an order over the weekend using a promotional credit I received as per a cancelled order due to a Price error. They didn't deduct any money for the price-error order and offered the promotional credit as a 'Sorry for the inconvenience' which applies to all items sold and shipped by Amazon

This is how said order appears for me using the promotional credit to order something else.

          Item(s) Subtotal: $16.21
          Delivery: $0.00
          ——-
          Total: $16.21
          Promotion(s) Applied: -$16.21
          ——-
          Grand Total: $0.00

The 'Promotions' is the Promotional Credit - I'll admit it's very misleading as it doesn't go in-depth regarding whether it's an actual promotion via the store (or Amazon) or a promotional credit (or both)

Looks like you had a promotional credit from something, they stay on your account for a while so it could have been from a while ago

  • Have had one for a while and does the job well. Tempted to grab another at this price.

  • Anyone got recommendations on a Bosch Professional kit that is similar to this one? Keen to pay more for a higher quality set of drill bits

    • I bought this set in the last deal. I kinda regretted it as I would also have preferred a higher quality Bosch Blue set.

  • Anyone here given them a go with stainless?

    • Did a sink, snapped one bit, other worked fine.

  • Will this pair well with a Ryobi 18V brushless driver drill? Or does it need something more powerful?

    • Depends what you want to drill into but that should be fine for most stuff that doesn't require a hammer drill.

  • Love this set, Bought two, thanks for sharing.

  • +1

It's not a bad kit, the bits are really poor quality though. Like, they are throw aways after a few challenging situations. I have since purchased a Milwaukee bit set and the quality difference is so evident.

  • Only one per customer. I was going to buy 3 as presents

  • +2

    Showing up as $26.90?

  • Bought one of these last year and it has been great for general light use around the house, it's great grab the case and know just about anything I need is in there. Only complaint is the complete lack of a 4mm Hex bit, it has 3x 5mm but no 4mm.

  • Can these use on any drill or just Bosch drill

    • Going by the shape of the drill bits going to hazard a guess any drill will do.

    • +1

Bosch don't make any Bosch specific drills. The only special drill bits are SDS drills.
