  • is it worth buying Masters 3s over 1st gen? thanks all…!!

    • +1
    • 3s works on the Bolt receiver and is not backward compatible with the previous receiver

      • Bolt is the previous business edition receiver so if you got the business edition devices, bolt should work.

        • Oh sorry, by previous I mean the unifying receiver.

I think Bolt is now consumer as well until they get around to a USB C option… Which hopefully is backward compatible

          • @Unorthodox: The new Bolt receiver is not backward compatible.

            • @dacmo: That's what I said above.

I'm saying I hope their USB C solution will be… Otherwise they will have screwed their customers again

Personally I'm waiting for the MX Master 3S Pro Plus Max with BT6.1 WiFI AX+ 7.3 B28 with 90day battery life.

  • Nice mouse, a very good productivity tool.

  • +6

Note that this mouse and keyboard require different dongles :(

    • Was just about to ask this.
Is there a good KB that is compatible with the 3S mouse dongle?

      • MX Keys for Business, but it doesn't seem to be widely available yet. There is a bundle of both but it's pretty expensive.

        • Couldn’t find the MX Keys for Business anywhere.

          The bundle
You’re talking about I’m pretty sure includes:

          MX Keys for Business (good)
MX Master 3 (NOT 3S) (bad)

I ended up getting the MX Master 3S and the MX Mechanical keyboard

          Both use the bolt receiver

          • @wormarts: Interesting. It looks like they made a revised version of the MX3 that uses Bolt instead of Unifying. Sneaky little buggers

            • @Domingo: LOL yeh what a mess

It took me ages to figure out the differences, as they’re not readily apparent.

Lots of people online are caught off guard, as Logitech advertise the MX series as things to get as packages, or to pair the mouse with the keyboard, etc.

              • @wormarts: yeah, although 3 to 3s doesn't seem too different - quieter clicks and the 8000 dpi sensor instead of 4000, otherwise identical.

      • MX Keys Mini does. Really good keyboard if you don’t want full size.

    • God dang :( Was gonna pair my MX Keyboard with the mouse. Anw has bit, mouse seemed to be pairing nicely with my MX Keyboard.

    • I had to read about the difference between Unifying and Bolt - I didn't realise Bolt wasn't backwards compatible.

But, you have the option of using Bluetooth for one or both devices.

  • "Out of stock, remove item to continue" for the mouse

    • have updated title & description. Thanks

    • mouse is back in stock

      • grabbed one thanks!

  • strange question maybe can this be used with windows? Maybe? lol what are drawbacks?

    • +3

Of course, what else would you use it with lol.

It usually comes with a tiny usb dongle you plug into a port and then your good to go. You can download Logi Software for additional functionality/customizability but it will work perfectly without it lol. It's also got bluetooth so you can connect it via that if you cbf pluggin in the dongle.

      • thanks! lol just wondering why it's for mac in description. that's all appreciate.

        • Normally they should be compatible with everything but it is wierd how they singled mac out. Just double check, but I'm 90% sure it should be fine for windows.

Edit: Just had a a look at some youtube videos and it seems fine with windows.

          • +2

@ChickenDinner123: They have ‘mac’ and ‘windows’ versions that feature different layouts. But both seem to work with whatever operating system you want :)

        • +2

The “for Mac” version has the keys labelled for mac only (eg command and windows keys are different than windows). If you only use macs it is the cleanest looking.
The version that isn’t for mac actually has labels for both operating systems on the keys.
As I use both Mac and windows machines it is better for me.

    • https://www.westfield.com.au/shop/product/2065/c223761c-57bd… for non mac version - i've been looking for one. not lowest price but seems like good price

      • It’s $161 on Amazon. Personally I am wanting it to drop below $140 before pulling the trigger on a second one. Discipline, discipline

    • -3

The Mac version is just a MX Master 1 with a new shell that costs more than Windows version.

  • +2

    Great keyboard.

Been using it for the last few months and can't see myself going back to any normal KB now.

  • Great audio recorder and camera.

  • +2

Was looking to buy both than realised 3S only works with Bolt receiver + BT and Keyboard uses unifying receiver + BT. I just wanted to use one receiver on my work computer for both and the second receiver on my home computer.

    • +1

Your work PC probably has BT, so you could use that instead of a dongle.

      • -1

I prefer to use the receiver and a single one. Not 100% sure which receiver is better. The Bolt or the Unifying.

  • +3

How are you guys getting the mouse at $123? Showing $168 for me currently, and $143 at checkout with coupon applied.

    • Think it was cheaper before it went OOS

  • +1

Price on both has gone back up.

  • Anyone got an update on pick-up time? Been almost 3 days now and nothing yet?

    • +1

Been 5 days now and still no shipping details.

      • +2

Read some reviews online and it seemed DigiDirect is pretty notorious for the delayed shipping. At this stage they are very close of competing with Shopping Square in terms of late shipping and stuffs.

    • Yup just got the same message from Southland as well. Sounds to me like they put up stocks they don't have and waiting for new stock to arrive. Infuriating af. Also their email message on their DigiDirect website didn't seem to work either.

    • I still haven't received anything besides spam from Westfield

  • Received the below yesterday
