Mere months before they release the new 27” Apple silicon iMac I bet

It's only for iMacs, other Macs (eg MacBook Air/Pro, Mac mini) are not included.

    • Thanks - just updated the title.

  • Thank you for clarifying

  • I brought an MacBook Air from Apple this week online through the education link on their page.
The price is $1699 instead of $1849 and it also comes with a free set of AirPods (generation 2) but you can pay the difference to upgrade which I did for the Pros.

You are meant to be a student at an educational institution recognised by Apple but ordering online there was no codes or university email address required and no one asked for proof when I picked it up.

For the MacBook and AirPods Pros I paid $1879.

  • Same price at Amazon.

I guess the current M1 iMac 24" is not getting an update at the 8 March event. More likely an update to the intel 27" iMac or the "high end" intel mini Mac.

    • Possibly both.

There are reports of a new monitor with the T2 chip, which could either be a standalone monitor with FaceID (as a cheaper alternative to their current $10k beast), a 27” iMac with FaceID, or both.

    • link please :-)

    • I heard the M1 iMac's won't have the custom RAM upgrade option (after purchase), is that true?

How much for the other 90%?

  • Interesting looking iMacs…

    • yeah not sure what's going on with the link image - page links correctly!

  • I just want an iMac without the fat bezels in 2022. Why do they gatekeep such trivial features so they can "save" them for future years upgrades.
