        My secondary network with gigabit NBN could take full advantage of those SFP ports for transferring the large amount of TBs I do each week :P Ditch the Aruba for some Unifi :)

            @teacherer: Unlucky. I've been rocking FTTP since the beginning.

            I prefer the original HPE switches and their GUI over the Aruba ones you now get from HPE. I find that configuring things like VLANs in Aruba is not as easy as it once was.

              @Clear: You can switch to the "classic" UI at the top right (just under your login name). The classic interface is the only way I've found to do some of the required tasks, such as setting up SSH access. Alternatively, drop the GUI and go command line! :)

                @banana365: Seriously you can switch to a classic UI? How did I not know this? I try to avoid command line after working for an ISP installing Cisco gear. It gave me PTSD.

                  @Clear: The real PTSD inducing nightmares start when you use command line on both HP and Cisco. One assigns VLANs to a port, the other assigns ports to a VLAN. Getting one type to talk to another requires so much brain flipping!

  Can I ask a question of networking pros… I have a 8-port unmanaged switch at the moment but the fan noise from across the room comes across my mic… Is this Ubiquiti UniFi Industrial, Managed Gigabit Layer 2 Switch, 802.3bt PoE++ worthwhile for a fanless switch with POE+?

  I really need 6x POE+ ports and a POE budget of 180w, with no noise, so fanless I guess.

    You can find better with a netgear poe switch. The one you linked seems designed for factory environment and it cost a lot if you plan to use it in your house
