No required, but I do strongly believe that higher fines and more rigorous crackdown by police is required to ensure social distancing is maintained for the shorter period to curb the growth. Post infection fines should also occur for people who are found to be infected from breaching social distancing guidelines by attending large gatherings.

How effective are laundry sanitisers? How true is the 99.9% claim of ridding laundry of germs?
There are products on the market that does work quiet well in killing bacterial in laundry systems.
Can you please give examples?
I can't give specific brand examples. But if you look for them in Woolworths or Coles, there are plenty of products with Benzalkonium Chloride (it will be on bottom front of bottle). This active ingredient is commonly used as a sanitising agent to kill bacteria in laundry systems.

Are there any sanitizers for people with skin conditions? I have eczema and washing more frequently with sanitizer use is causing my hands to worsen.
There are non alcohol based sanitizers, but they do contain active agents which may or may not also aggregate your eczema. I would conduct a patch test first. Stay away from natural based and alcohol free hand sanitisers as they may contain essential oils which may further aggravate your eczema condition.
What is the minimum alcohol content of a hand sanitiser required to kill a virus?
It depends on the virus to be honest. Bacterial kill rate starts at 60%v/v. I would recommend a 85%v/v for effective kill of most common pathogens and viruses
Do we have enough stock for sanitisers in VIC?
Especially with all the breweries making them plus the imports? I surely hope so. As always, I recommend therapeutic grade sanitisers and locally produced product.
Hand washing is still the best deterrent and sanitisers should not be used as a primary replacement to good hand washing.
How effective are sanitisers compared to hand washing with soap?
Early data indicates that sanitisers are likely to kill COVID-19 virus based on likely comparison against other similar Corona type viruses. Additionally to this, use of hand sanitizers also assist to disperse oil/water droplets that may contain virus particles, thereby reducing the likelihood of entry into your eyes, mouth or nose.
Hand washing with soap is still much more effective at this and should be the primary option.
It might be answered before, generic vs branded medicine, are they really the same? The recent example in OZb is Telfas/Zirtec vs its generic?
Although some slight difference in performance can still be experienced based on other factors (such as the other non-active ingredient composition, quality of drug, manufacturing process, etc), generic medicine have to prove equivalent bio-available dosage compared to benchmark before the TGA can approve registration.
In summary, they should be very similar and choices should be made by assessing the cost difference between the generic to the branded medicine. The higher the difference, the more case it makes to consider the generic**.
**Cost is not an indication of quality of a medicine. I just wanted to make that clear.
Catching the virus from a contaminated
surface hasn't really been proven. I don't think long term use of sanitising everything is going to play out well.
People should be focusing their efforts on basic hygiene (including washing hands with soap, sneezing in tissues then discarding), maintaining social distancing and wearing masks in crowded places.
Hand sanitizer is fine if you don't have access to soap and water, but otherwise it's a waste of money.
This is correct. Focus should be on basic hand hygiene. The only benefit of surface sanitising is to remove oil and water droplets (which has been left from an infected individual), from surfaces and prevent contamination to the next subject.
I read that hand washing is better than hand sanitizer. But if the person is so lazy that they would never wash their hands anyway, then shouldn't we encourage that person to use the sanitizer after the toilet instead of not cleaning at all? In this case, for these lazy people, sanitizer is better than hand washing because they never would have washed in the first place.
To be honest…what you have mentioned is a perfect example of Darwin's natural selection at play.
I am advocate that if an individual is too stupid, lazy or ignorant, then we should allow natural selection to take place.

You don't think it's illogical to post yourself as a solution first then request replies with problems for you to solve? I would of thought it's problem first then comes the solution, you know chicken before the egg so to speak. Threads just seem more logical when you start by posting a question then let the users followup with replies of possible solutions…
