[NSW] Mealpal - Free Lunch for 15-150 People (Sydney CBD Region)

71

Hi All,

I received an email indicating this.

Image of email - https://i.imgur.com/6A3iJj7.png

There's nothing better than a free lunch! Give the gift of a free meal to your coworkers - no strings attached.

The MealPal team will handle everything - from creating an RSVP link, bringing in the meals from top restaurants in your area, explaining the MealPal concept to attendees, and even sharing an exclusive discount link just for your office!

We can accommodate 15 - 150 attendees per lunch event. We will ask you to reserve a space in your office to host us and your colleagues.

Not the best person to coordinate? Feel free to send this link to your office manager.

It said i won some competition, but the URL is available for anyone else to use as i've seen a few dates vanish.

I'm unfortunately not in the Sydney CBD region so i can't do this myself :(

YMMV

These guys keep trying new things but keep missing the mark. Every week is an email begging to come back.
    It's simple. Just do:
    - No access fee
    - Discounted meals/credit with no credit expiry (i.e. it rollsover)
The whole access fee or losing credits if you don't use it in a month is not a good model. They recently introduced 50% credit rollover on a plan, but still not good enough.

I agree, they just can't get it right.

      • Never used them, attempted once when i was in the city but didn't wanna pay to look at stuff at the time.

They became just one of the crowds when they began tiered pricing as opposed to fixed set price for all meals.

They won't be around much longer..

I'd used them before they changed their subscription model and for me it was the pickup window the killed it. It just became another thing to stress over each day.

Nowadays I would never use them purely based off all the spammy marketing junk I received from them. I don't know what kind of people they're trying to attract with emails like 'My boss said I absolutely could not send this offer out. Quick! Signup now, while it’s still live! My boss will find out I sent this any minute and close it out.' (with the exact same offer they send emailed out every single day) but it sure as hell isn't me

I saw the email and thought I was being phished

Like others, removed my MealPal account since they started charging for subscription.

    I just use Ritual now.

  • The problem is the restaurant prepared special meal which is smaller

I stop using them when they need monthly membership fee.

  • They still own me a $50 Coles gift card …..Waited for 2years..

The latest change is worse. Prior to this change you pay 5.99 monthly fee and pay 6.99 to 10.99 per meal.

Now you pay $99 get 65 credits and the same 10.99 meal is now $15 (10 credits).

I asked them to cancel and refund the balance on the account. There is no way to see the balance or the transactions and sent me this email. Be aware. Raised a card dispute and they are now refunding it.

“Thanks for reaching out! Happy to help.

As per the terms of service - credit added is non-refundable.”

    • I mean, this is irrelevant to this deal though.

I used this offer and it made me so popular at work that everyone high fives me as I walk through the office and my boss gave me a raise AND a Ferrari and they're going to make a movie about me.
