Just wondering, how is this better than transferwise?

    • me want know 2

    • One advantage for WR is that you can send money to over 140 countries. Transferwise is limited to a few dozen. Plus they offer cash pickups at thousands of locations.

      • People also forget that transferwise loves to ban people very easily.

        • Oh I bet they would like to block people who abuse referral program

exchange rate is worse than Transferwise!!

    • Yes but the TW have a flexible fee so for 100Euro i pay 1.71AUD and for 1000Euro i have to pay 8.10AUD and although the exchange is better will be pretty much the same.
WR charges 3.99 no matter how much you transfer.
Probably if you do small transfers TW will be better. I should look in to that.
      Thanks

      • IMHO I think you are missing exchange rates from your assumption, which are quite better on TW

  • hmmm… interesting reviews

Do I have to transfer 3 times to all 140 countries before being charged?

  • I used them multiple times in the past and had no problem sending money to a Romanian bank.
Much chipper then western-union or the bank.

Register an account with Western Union online. Use Code FIRSTFREEAU and you can transfer for free. Used the code on same account dozens of times

I use Monito (https://www.monito.com) to compare rates and sometimes find these guys work out cheaper than Transferwise once you include fees. Shame this didn't come up the other day as I made a big transfer :(

N.B. I should note OFX always seems to have a much better exchange rate listed on Monito than what you actually get so YMMV

    • Thanks, very useful

Personally I prefer InstaReM which gives much better rates than transferwise. World remit is worst for the rates when you comepare with these 2

  • You can also try https://mozo.com.au/international-money-transfer to compare transfer rates.
