OP I'm absolutely hanging out for another 56v Ego mower deal to get me into the ecosystem.

go away I didn't ask you

I've gone all electric just to get away from storing and mixing fuel, messing with priming buttons and chokes, and generally dealing with the maintenance, grime and smoke that go along with petrol garden equipment - plus my wife can confidently use everything without worrying that she won't get it to start or something - just plug in the battery and off you go.

They might not quite be as powerful, but they're plenty good enough for my needs and I'm super thrilled to never need to run off to the servo on a Saturday morning, to come inside smelling like petrol and fumes, and never ever needing to pull-start anything.

The EGO is a lot heavier than my Honda was…

          The Honda definitely cut better.

  • Hi Any deals on a lawn edger..?

  • Wasn't this posted a day or two ago already?

    • At that time they were In-store only, they are now available Online also for our interstate customers, plus added coupon code.

      • OK, thanks…

      • Can you do anything on the Trimmer head only?

  • Any line trimmer kits? Thx

Powerload and LINE IQ ones are a game changer….

      • Have bought a few LINE IQ units and they are often really slow at feeding out extra line, so rather than a 38cm diameter cut, you are trying to work with a 15cm diameter cut (and the line has FAR less cutting power as its moving slower that close to the head). I thought it was my trimmer line, but even using the EGO stuff, it wont feed well, it is really annoying.

I prefer the cheaper Powerload only ones without line IQ.

  • Also be aware that these are either superseded or soon to be superseded models. With the multi-head system they are moving from a motor in the rear with a mechanical linkage to the head to a new system with the motors in the heads. The two systems are NOT compatible, and the other system will likely be the norm moving forward. Google the new ps1000 pole saw to see how it works. They look to be considerably lighter and offer better balance with the battery in the rear and motor in the head.

    • Complete rubbish, the PSX1000 is totally different product in the commercial range.

But yes there is a new multi head, different motor and carbon shaft, variable speed and compatible with ALL exist multi tool add ons

      Model PH1420E

The PSX1000 also superseded by PSX2510

      • Complete rubbish

        Savage.

Savage indeed! Where did I say PSX1000? You may need to re-read my post. I think you are talking about the commercial model that I did not comment on. The PS1000 that I was talking about is a newer model available overseas that is not available here yet, but is likely to replace the whole PH1420E power head system in the future. I actually have the new PH1420E (its great, definitely more power than the old PH1400) that has just arrived here in Australia, but the new electrical system is considerably lighter weight than the mechanical PH1420E based setup, and has better balance with the motor at the head and no heavy mechanical linkage up the shaft, just wires, its just lighter for a similar result.

I know that I am doing a bit of crystal ball work here but there is a reason why EGO are heavily discounting this model, its not out of the goodness of their heart, EGO knows that they have a better system waiting in the wings. This is why I made my post, I just want to make sure people are aware before they buy this one.

        • Good info, thanks

  • @TradeTools I need a deal for a Blower kit please

  • Cheers OP, took the last one from Geebung TT.

  • In urgent need of a line trimmer, is this a good price? I'm a complete newbie.
    https://www.tradetools.com/ego-56v-2-5ah-350mm-14-brushless-…

    • Yes good unit, powerload is great! Free delivery + $499 free delivery, with bonus battery is below market pricing, plus $10OFF coupon if bought online.

  • I ordered the hedge trimmer from on the 29/04/2024, and it's been over 9 days since I received an email explaining a delay due to the need to source additional stock from their store network.

    Here’s the email I got:

"We apologize for the delay to your order. In order to get your order out as soon as possible, we may need to source additional stock from within our store network."

Has anyone else experienced similar delays with TradeTools? I am assuming at this stage there is no stock to be found.
