        • thanks, wasnt going to buy the homekit version, as i dont have homekit setup, but sounds like its worth it for local integration!

As @JSONBourne said. Add as a homekit device 🙂

  • Ordered non HomeKit version. Does anyone know how long the sensor cable is?

    • It is 23 ft long.

  • Has anyone got the sensor working? If yes could you please post some pics. I am struggling with the magnetic fields and placement of them

    • So you checked that the sensors actually work when setting it via the app?

Anyways here's how I did mine-

      • Many thanks. Yes the sensor worked in app but not when I tried to line it with the garage door.
Is showed open when closed then open for no reason. Thinking that’s the magnetic field.

What is the plastic thing behind the sensor? Is it pvc?

        • Just the double sided tape pieces that came with it

Here’s mine, hasn’t slipped a beat and keeps the wires mostly around the central unit and away from the door.

I’ve got my magnetic sensors attached to the manual lever arm and then on the arm structure.

Keep the magnets as close as they can be together (ie. 1mm gap) so that there is a strong difference between connected and disconnected.

      • Many thanks mate. Will get into it this weekend

        • No worries, it's a lifesaver. Let me know how you go happy to answer any questions if you have any.

      • Thanks for these pics. I saw a guy on youtube screw the sensor on to the front/top of the garage door.

you way looks much better. Thanks!

        • Yep I'm not a fan of that approach since it means the cable is so close to the garage door. If you put it on the arm it's out of the way and can't get caught on anything. Works exactly the same and hasn't missed a beat!

If you have any issues I'd set the door timeout to a few seconds longer than it actually takes. It should be bullet proof then.

  • Is this garage door controller compatible with this Meross Smart Garage Door Opener? I don't have the user manual.

That looks to me like yes, but you can always purchase and refund if it doesn’t work. I believe they have a 30 day refund guarantee.

You can also message support and ask for their clarification.

      • Thank you!

  • The unit works great. Had one for a good while now, along with some smart plugs. Only thing I would say is that the widget can be flakey at times which is annoying but not exactly a big problem as the app works fine evertytime.

  • Hi, does this work with B&D garage openers?

  • Had one installed for about 1 year, recently it started playing up, was stopping me from opening my garage door using the standard remote, Checked out the unit as it was no longer responding in the app or Apple Home and it had actually started overheating and smouldering, with burn mark inside and out and it killed the unit. May be due to the longer and hotter than usual summer in Perth :/

App was very flaky as well, always taking ages to respond when trying to open/close or doing nothing at all, Would not buy again.

  • Finally took the plunge and bought one. Nabbed an Apple TV 4k on marketplace to act as my hub.

Thanks OP for burning my money today.

    • You won’t regret it!

        { "response": "hope so" }

  • thx op, bought 1

  • Would this work on outdoor roller door? (motor is exposed to elements)

    • I think as long as it has a controller with a COM and NO input, then should be usable.

However, exposing the unit to the element may not work. Pretty sure it's not IP68 rated.

If you have an internal controller (a wall switch for example), then it should work according to the manual.

  • Doorworks GDC12 is not shown on the compatibility list. Anyone know if it works with the Doorworks GDC12?

  • +1

I ordered this in the morning and received it at around dinner time. And i just installed it all working perfectly

My garage door wasnt on the compatible list but it works by connecting it to my O/S/C port

Have a look at your garage door manual and see if there’s a port for a universal receiver. Also for O/S/C port

  • I got this yesterday and it was easy to setup and install. It worked the first few times but now it’s telling me that my garage door is open (on the Meross app. Google home and Apple home) but it’s closed. Then when I open it, the app says it’s closed. Is there a fix for this?

    • +1

Maybe you need to adjust the “opening time “under advance settings in device settings

I had to set mine to 25 seconds or it shows as obstructed

Also check your closed position magnet is working with your installed area

    • Double check your sensor cable could be inserted in reverse to the meross unit. This could be reporting open as closed and closed as open.

  • mine lasted exactly 2 years in a covered garage. disappointing, but amazon is great in handling by refunding so that i can order another one.

  • Okay thanks OzB, you've put this thing up as a deal so often that I've finally bought one.

Hope it is useful and reliable and easy to install!

  • Looks like it is expired

  • Non Homekit is still on special

  • Is there a way to open the garage door using google assistant while your phone is locked?
