Ever since I switched to Braun, I have never gone back to other brands, that's how good they are.

These Braun Series 7 and 5 varieties are both made in Germany, premium built and quality.

Both 50% off+, very good deal, especially Braun 5. German made premium shaver under $100.

Braun 7 $189 (limited time deal so not sure when the sale will end) (This offer has expired but Braun 5 is still available)

series 5 is better than this? https://www.shavershop.com.au/panasonic/3-blade-wet--and-dry…?
have that red for 10 years should i upgrade?

    • I went for the Panasonic LV-67 instead from Kogan, was on for $199 few months back.

    • I have a Braun S5 from the previous deal. It's good.

  • Has anyone compared with Philips style (rotary) shavers? And Xiaomi rotary ones? I have a top Philips shaver but the replacement heads cost a fortune and are not as good as they used to be.

    • +2

Not sure how much the Philips heads are, but the Braun ones certainly ain't cheap.

Around $58 bucks for a genuine Series 7 one. And the generic ones are horrible (I've tried them).

I used to have Philips it pulls my beard, but that was 20 years ago.

      • Yes, that's why I changed to Braun.

    • My first electric shaver was a rotary head Philips. It was OK but I much prefer the straight style head, and have stuck with Braun since switching a few decades ago.

    • +1

I used Philips rotary shavers before. There's always one very short beard hair that can't be shaved off. Now I am using Braun S5 (bought it last year at $99), quite good. always clean.

  • Which model still have the small hair trimmer?

  • +5

Series 7 same model number was $169 back in Feb 2024. I will HOLD.

  • +2

Does anyone make a good shaver with usb-c? Sick of all the different proprietary chargers, makes traveling with them a pain

    • +2

      Xiaomi

  • +3

Love Braun. Magnificent shavers. But travelling with them is such a pain. Have reverted to using one of those handheld Aliexpress beard trimmers (ultra sharp and cuts the coarsest hair easily - but red marks galore from the sharp blades) when travelling just to cut down on the cables.

Panasonic and Braun uses similar technology. It comes down to the cost of replacement blades. My Panasonic is still going strong after 13 years….. blades are not cheap though……

    • +1

I put camelcamelcamel alerts on Amazon for blades, they do come down in price.

      @hokonfan yours is https://www.shavershop.com.au/panasonic/3-blade-wet--and-dry… ?
i didnt know we have to change the blades

      • not this one, the one I had was much older version. The head look very similar.
They said replace the blade every 1.5 year, but I normally use it for 3 years. Old blades still cuts just take more time. Around 6th year mark the mesh broke and i had to replace the blade and the mesh which cost me 80 bux….

        • never see the replacement sold on store. can we replace ourself?

  • Not sure about this 360-flex design of the series 7?
Series 8 and 9 use the original design.
    So which is better?

  • +1

I got a Braun free from market research. Much better than my Panasonic. Miles better

  • Does anybody know how often you'll need to change the head? I'm not a heavy shaver but a single disposable razer is barely able to hold up to a single shave.

    • +1

I do my scalp as well as face (Series 7, a few years old), and do that every couple of days, and change them about annually.

  • Series 7 price changed to $279.99 unfortunately

  • Ever since I switched to Braun, I have never gone back to other brands

you need to up your game

  • I think the panasonic 5/6 blade arcs are deemed the best even against the braun 9 series.
The blades for mine are $120 though.. :(

    • I switched to the 5 blade Panasonic recently and I'm never going back to Braun!

      • Now I'm confused

  • Any trimmer recommendation?

  • +1

    Shaver: Braun.
Even original old series 7 better than this -> https://shavercheck.com/braun-series-7-new-vs-original/

    what I use is:

    • Philips Oneblade pro I got for $58 on Amazon
    • Andis ProFoil Lithium I got for $105 on Amazon
    • Xiaomi ceramic blade trimmer I got gor $17 off AliExpress

for shaving my face OneBlade gets close enough and super quick. often it's enough. when I want to look super dandy I finish with Andis for super smooth feel

for shaving the scull, I first do the trimmer to get very short, then foil shaver to get bulk of the work done, then cut longish hairs with OneBlade and finish with foil Andis.

Braun foil shavers try to do it all in one, but trimmer is weak, they struggle to get all longish hair with the middle cutter, and they aren't strong enough to use on scull (hair too dense for it).

just my take on it - coming from a long term series 5 and 7 user who moved on to the above.

  • I have tried Braun and Philips in the past. Pretty good but find Panasonic much better

  • +1

7 series no more deal prices, back to $279

    • Yep, I did a report for price expired…. Message came back from mods "no action taken"

Deal needs to be marked as expired

  • Bought a FLYCO FS988 for $75, the number one selling brand in the world you have never heard of ! IPX7, 850mAh battery, USB-C and fully rebuildable with every spare part sold.

Works a treat and far better than the Phili$$$have. Flyco blades are $10/3 pack or $5 for aftermarket ones. Haven't even worn out the original set after 6 months.

    • Looks cool. Where did you get yours from? Only can see AliExpress for $173.

      • Used to be sold on Amazon, but any that still show up in search results are listed as out of stock.

My guess is that they are just one of the 'generic' Chinese brands that come and go.
Every now and then they manage to churn out some pretty good stuff, so maybe this was one of the good ones?
Website seems a bit suspicious though.

FLYCO originally started as an OEM manufacturer and continue to make shavers for many large brands and now produce their own units.

Sold in USA, UK, France, Spain, Germany, Italy, Russia, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Philippines, South Korea and of course China… but not Australia… yet.

Publicly listed company on Shanghai stock exchange with a market capitalisation around 4.5 billion AUD.

  • Now $159.78 for the series 5. I had it in my cart though at $99, but is temporarily OOS. I've still placed the order and will wait to be notified of an expected date. I noticed that at $99 it was being sold by Amazon Commercial whereas now at $159.78 it's sold by mobileciti.

  • just got the unit, bought the s5, open the package, have a look at the back of the shaver, it literally says "made in china".
    oh well…

    • Amazon's fault? Try to contact Amazon customer service about this misleading ads on their listing. The photo of the box on Amazon's listing says "Made in Germany". The one I bought from another shop also made in Germany too.

      • +1

i think it says engineered in germnay. the performance is indeed very very good, way better than my phlips aqua touch AT890.

  • Good at shaving heads ,or best head shaver?

  • +1

Forgot I had it in my cart the other day and it was @ $99. Processed the order so we'll see what happens…..but said it's on back order. But when I do a new order, the price is $159 but in stock!

    • Yep, I've got mine on order at $99 also

      • Has yours been shipped yet?

        • Nup still waiting for an email

          • @Hipsi: Yeah same. Could be waiting for a while!
